Help With Format C
I have Windows XP Professional installed and I can't figure out how to Format my hard drive. I am installing a different OS and want to wipe out my C drive completely.
Thanks for the help. |
create a dos boot disk...or download one, boot then format C:

Start installing adn it will promt you with a question wheter to keep existing format or reformat. Then it will warn of lose of all data on drive......Go crazy....you forget how fast computers are until you reinstall everyhting fresh
|
Put XP sidk in and reinstall, it will ask you if you want to format
|
I just bought Windows XP Home edition, and when I went to install thinking it would format for me and remove XP professional now on there, it gave me a warning that having more than one OS may cause problems...but nothing about removing XP Profesional. I'll try again then, thanks.

set 1st boot device in BIOS to CDROM and then insert the XP Home in the cdrom when starting up.
It should boot from cdrom now [or you have to press any key] and you can choose delete partition/format somwhere along the line :thumbsup |
