Why is Braincash Spamming Me?

Or why did they sell my email adress to spammers.
When I signup for a program I usually use [email protected]

so when I recieve spam like this:

Hello
I was like you, Looking all over the net for free porn, But is it possible to get this without paying ? I mean who wants to pay for porn on the internet these days, I found it hard to find a decent site without all the spam and lame popups you get, So i searched and searched and eventualy i decided to make my own site, I made a place where you can come and get free (yes free) usernames and passwords to adult pay sites all over the internet, My forums now have usernames/passwords to the most well known sites for example bangbus, adultbouncer, deluxepass, cumfiesta, all the top sites and all you have to do is login and get it all free ...

......
......
..to my braincash@domainname email it really makes me wonder why they would risk losing clients over that?

Jace 01-19-2005 09:21 AM

woah, that is kind of fucked....

and to make the irony oh so nice, it is for a password trading forum...

xclusive 01-19-2005 09:32 AM

I hope that somebody from over there answers this question they might have a big security breach

Trax 01-19-2005 09:35 AM

well... all I know is that I didn't post the email adress I used when signing up with them on any website and I find it hard to believe that spammers randomly sent out an email to [email protected]

This is like the matrixcontent / acacia thing back in the day... anyone remember :)
this looks like they either spammed themselves, sold the list or got em stolen... someone of that.. or is there another option?

hjnet 01-19-2005 09:37 AM

Maybe some smartass Spammer just made himself a list out of popular domain names combined with popular affiliate programs, f.e. not only [email protected] but also [email protected], [email protected] etc.??

Would be a task of just a few minutes and it's already well known that many webmasters use that kind of unique emails.

Its very easy to get tons of private/unpublished emails with the right tools and without hacking.

Maybe revenge?

Spammer spammed Braincashs Sites, got his Account deleted and now as revenge he tries to damage the reputation of Braincash by sending out emails to [email protected], or something like that.

Spam are not coming from us no worries.
Also received the spam but since I got tons per day, I didn't really noticed.
I will check this issue more in details Btw you can always contact me on icq 30975654 about any issue instead of posting it :)

I knew Mr. Fred would be on this..... BC doesn't spam. Never has and never will I wouldn't imagine. By the way..... see sig for BC info!
Thanks Fred!

I set up my affiliate e-mails as [email protected] and there is no way that a spammer is going to figure it out. I always add random numbers.
I am getting spam dumped into my braincash e-mail account too. They are either selling the e-mails (doubtful), a database got hacked (most likely), or an employee grabbed them.
Do you notice this all happened during the MPA - NATS rollover?

But the clueless idiot sheep will continue to say they didn't do it, NO WAY, BRAINCASH IS CLEAN! Yeah right! :1orglaugh

well I wanted to post this to get a 3rd and neutral opinion... the chance that some spammer randomly sends out and email with [email protected] to spam is VERY VERY unlikely. The domain I used for the email has only 2 inbound links, a PR1 does not recieve and traffic and recieved 2 spam mails a month max...
I really want to know what is going on... I am really sure (in case you did not send the mail) that someone got access to your data. I hope that you understand that just because you got the same spam doesn't make me feel better...

looking forward to your info.

I do the same thing when I sign up for programs.

I was getting a bunch to the Sextronix email I used to sign up with them.

I sent them an email with questions and they haven't responded, BUT the emails have stopped... :error

The email I received was for penis pills 'super viagra' with links to medztabz.biz and upower.info

Doesn't make sense to spam our webmasters with paysite... ç
It's possible that we had a security issue but us spamming webmaster to make money make no sense....

We are currently looking at the situation. If you got questions, hit me up on icq. I 'm always there to answer any problems 30975654

This shit annoys me too. I've got a list of programs that I get spammed from pretty much daily. Maybe I should actually start talking to some of these people.

You're better off posting it on this board, now that the forum has been made aware. :2 cents:
