"Silent" licenses no longer silent?

Windows Media Player now always pop up a "License Acquired" window even when the license is silent. Is this a new Media Player default setting or a Service Pack 2 thing or what?

I'm sorry, did I accidentally start a thread about something industry related?

Trule a wise observation. Does anyone have anything substantial to add?

i'd hit it!

i dont know what "license is silent" means exactly. but i only get that when i'm playing a video protected with drm.

they are still silent unless its being issued via a redirect or the person doesnt have receive silent licenses selected in their preferences

It just means the user doesn't have to do anything when the license is issued.

I don't see that option anywhere. The closest I see is "automatically acquire licenses" which I have checked.

Pretty much what I was afraid of. That really sucks ass. I've been looking for DRM service providers lately and I've noticed that stupid popup showing up on supposedly silent licenses. That's wonderful; now it'll be 50 times harder to spread the files around.
