Anyone else get fucked up their as from the stock market crash like i did?

I lost millions during the crash a few years ago, i wonder if the market will go up any this year and if so, how muany percent.

baddog 01-19-2005 01:52 AM

Well, I did not lose millions, but I lost a lot with the combination of the stock market getting weird, and with my main investment merging with another company to form what is now known as Verison.

Went from dividends to a tax write off for losses. I stopped even looking at its value after it got too depressing.

HAPPYPEEKERS 01-19-2005 01:53 AM

We lost nothing close to millions but we lost a nice little sum.. but on the other hand.. we have also made a very nice little sum since then :-)

Semi-Retired-Dave 01-19-2005 01:56 AM

Did you get any of it back. legally?
Don't you also have some properties that you wanted to sell.

I am gone to be or else I will knock out right here.

Good Nite.

... (2001) bought 350.000 FWHT @ 1.24 ... (2003) sold them @ 28.50 !!!

... the years the market crashed, I made the biggest profits.

... check out AAPL, you won't lose on them.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 01-19-2005 02:09 AM

My family lost over a million.

I lost about 40K, but I have recouped since then fairly well. I still trade tech stocks to never lost faith in tech.

emthree 01-19-2005 02:16 AM

imo tech stocks are evil :(
I'm sticking to meds after my loss (and reloss after dumping more $$ in the same co)

martyVP 01-19-2005 02:22 AM

I like to invest in real estate, less risky

KRL 01-19-2005 03:21 AM

I don't know anyone who didn't get hit one way or another. I lost 7 figs.

born4porn 01-19-2005 03:25 AM

I started investing after the crash! :D

ADL Colin 01-19-2005 03:32 AM

I pulled out my money out right before the NASDAQ went south. So did my brother and my parents. I haven't been back in since. Jesse just got back in. I need to take some time and decide if it is right for me.

pornstar2pac 01-19-2005 03:36 AM

I stopped right before the internet bubble burst. Late 99 I cashed out to fund my company. that was the only reason I got out. thank god.

I got lucky in starnet stock. got it at .67 cents a share and my avg. sell off was $14

those were the days. i used to post at ragingbull.com everyday.

350k, but it was a no brainer, I used goto's XML feed and goto (overture -> yahoo) decided to discontinue with all adult guys and non us people ... so everyone switched to FWHT (feb 01, this is when I bought in). only trick was selling at the right time ... I think I did really well.

Firehorse 01-19-2005 03:45 AM

Fortunately I have made more back than I lost! :)
