I've got quite a few hosted movie galleries that have videos that are 30 seconds or over.

Why dont you just buy the password for your surfer?

30 sec clips convert well for my stuff, some of the better converting galleries actually

i agree though, you don't want to give them 30 secs of uninterupted material to stroke too, you have to mix up the scenes , be creative

My surfers know what quality is. They don't "fall" for 10-seconds clips that much (edit: any more..), and 30-second ones make them happy and enough time to view it while they reach for their CC :thumbsup

Don't mind. Again, like BV said, it doesn't have to be 30-seconds of raw sex. It can be edited in very creative ways. Either way, I'm looking for the better ones out there.

To me this gallery is one of mine that I would think would not convert well because it has not 1 BUT 5 LONG MOVIES on it. I see this gallery in the referrals quite a bit.

While I don't think that giving them all 5 is a good idea, I do like to give a couple longer clips. (btw: see sig for handjob clips and catfight clips)

BV, you have some great galleries. This type of content wouldn't do well at all with 10-second clips in my opinion (too many things going on there :))

No doubt - WTF? If you can't sell your site with a 15 sec clip you're not going to sell it with a 30 sec clip. You're just giving away free jerk-off material on your dime!

I completely disagree! I don't think it matters at all what site you're selling. All you're doing is giving the surfer more free content to jerk to!

Allie must get 4 or 5 e-mails a day from dumb assed surfers saying something like this, "I really love your site and I've been thinking about joining but I can't justify spending $24.95 a month when there's soo much free porn out there."

Now those are 4 or 5 people a day that actually take the time to write her. How many other people do you think feel the same way but just don't waste their time e-mailing.

Like the saying goes, "Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?" Just keep giving away longer and longer video clips and eventually nobody will pull out their credit card to actually join a site.

That's so funny, I have been running paysites for 6 years and have never gotten an email like that. Most of my emails are people wanting to sign up that don't have a credit card and want to mail me cash.

You're a gambling man Bone, I'll make 2 identical hosted galleries. One with a 2 minute clip and one with a 10 second clip. (same content)

You list each gallery on your site and send 10 signups to each one and whatever gallery reaches 10 in the least traffic wins.

Both galleries have to be listed in the same spot same preview thumb rotating every unique.

If the 10 sec clip wins I'll give you my half.
If the 2 min clip wins you give me your half.

Allie is Allie. That's a site that I also wouldn't give out "too much" movie content. A site like Bikini Voyeur is different. For 40 seconds they show a girl dancing to music, her shirt getting wet, maybe towards the end you see her finally lifting her shirt.. And they TELL YOU that 2 hours of that movie with that very same girl doing lesbian action is available "inside". The surfer enjoys a high quality movie with some good music and a bunch of things going on in the background of that girl. That's where a 30 or 40- second movies do justice.

And it's too bad that you call your potential customers "dumb assed surfers". So what if we sell porn here? :thumbsup If I were you I'd send those "dumb assed surfers" a special free 30-seconds movie clip "directly" from Allie with a "custom" picture of her with a "I hope to see you inside" t-shirt. The surfer would cum in his pants and join the next day when he needs more.

For certain sites I convert better with longer movies. I'm not saying show it all in one clip, but have her play with her tits longer, don't be cheap about the bandwidth, it's 2005 damn it. 30 seconds are better sometimes as they let my surfers realize that there's A LOT more inside :) I rather have a few quality movie galleries than 50 unsorted galleries with 5 ten-second clips in each. Just go with whatever converts your traffic better...

Sure you can sell a membership with 15 NON-NUDE even pic gallery. With higher quality free porn you sell retention. Again, do what's best for your traffic.

---- EDIT: And by the way, I actually don't give away nearly as much free porn as most sites do. Not even close to that. My new site is launching in a few days, you'll see for yourself :)

You're thinking 2001-style :) 10-second clips make the surfer feel restless. He's waiting to hop over to the next gallery. 30-second ones give them quality, thoughts, things to remember after the clip is over. Again, getting 5 sales a day from 10-second galleries doesn't mean it's the way to go :) :2 cents: :2 cents:

And bandwidth IS CHEAP. You can't expect to sell advanced VOD and DVD-quality movies with 10-second clips that are really 8-seconds because of the time it takes Windows Media Player to load. Sure you will sell it, but I'm thinking it's time for you too to try a different approach and see how you do :thumbsup
