Bush Has Lost His Goddamn Mind
US military pondered love not war
The US military investigated building a "gay bomb", which would make enemy soldiers "sexually irresistible" to each other, government papers say. Other weapons that never saw the light of day include one to make soldiers obvious by their bad breath. The US defence department considered various non-lethal chemicals meant to disrupt enemy discipline and morale. The 1994 plans were for a six-year project costing $7.5m, but they were never pursued. The US Air Force Wright Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio, sought Pentagon funding for research into what it called "harassing, annoying and 'bad guy'-identifying chemicals". The plans were obtained under the US Freedom of Information by the Sunshine Project, a group which monitors research into chemical and biological weapons. 'Who? Me?' The plan for a so-called "love bomb" envisaged an aphrodisiac chemical that would provoke widespread homosexual behaviour among troops, causing what the military called a "distasteful but completely non-lethal" blow to morale. Scientists also reportedly considered a "sting me/attack me" chemical weapon to attract swarms of enraged wasps or angry rats towards enemy troops. A substance to make the skin unbearably sensitive to sunlight was also pondered. Another idea was to develop a chemical causing "severe and lasting halitosis", so that enemy forces would be obvious even when they tried to blend in with civilians. In a variation on that idea, researchers pondered a "Who? Me?" bomb, which would simulate flatulence in enemy ranks. Indeed, a "Who? Me?" device had been under consideration since 1945, the government papers say. However, researchers concluded that the premise for such a device was fatally flawed because "people in many areas of the world do not find faecal odour offensive, since they smell it on a regular basis". Captain Dan McSweeney of the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate at the Pentagon said the defence department receives "literally hundreds" of project ideas, but that "none of the systems described in that [1994] proposal have been developed". He told the BBC: "It's important to point out that only those proposals which are deemed appropriate, based on stringent human effects, legal, and international treaty reviews are considered for development or acquisition." |
Stating that Bush has lost his mind is like stating the sky is blue. We all know that he is a grade A lunatic.
|
this has to be one of the most overly posted topics ever.
|
That gay bomb has gotta be the gayest thing Ive ever seen :1orglaugh
|
I can't stand Bush, but I don't see how you're tying him into this.

I think the gay bomb is a great idea. I gotta drop it on my wife and her friends!

if you're only just realizing this, than I guess you just found your mind
|
I don't understand the shock or outrage.
The proposal was never implemented. Why is something that was never implemented an issue at all? It was a dumb idea that never made the grade. So what? No one ever watches or cares about the film on the cutting room floor. No one ever goes back and fishes the potato scraps from the garbage and eats them. This is no different. |

head for the hills...the wind is spreading this stuff around |
wtf does that article have to do with Bush? did anybody read that or am I the only one who actualy analyzes things before speaking?
If you disagree with someone, that's one thing - but to pull bears out of the woods when you should be getting rabbits and trying to justify it is stupid, some of you should really step back and think for a moment before continueing the wagon ride you're on. If you come to the same conclusions as before, jump back on - just for god's sake take a moment and think! And before you flame me, think again. This post was directed at everyone who took that article as an excuse to bash Bush, which before I started typing this was everyone above this post. You might start to get the idea that I promote that weird thing called "thinking". :winkwink: |
In response to the thread title...what did the President have to do with this?
|
Bush had nothing to do with this other than maybe being a test subject

With the typos and crappy sentence structure displayed above, I don't really think you are in any position to be commenting on anyone else's intelligence. |
FYI, several of the suggestions you guys are laughing about have already been implemented as less than lethal force submission techniques by major police departments and prisons for crowd/riot control.

what did you think H-bomb meant?? hydrogen? puleeeze ;)
