How much bandwidth do the gallery submitters use?
 

I need to know how much bandwidth I can expect to be burning up going full time with some gallery submissions.

if you submit everyday you also have to think about the bandwidth from old galleries coz they're flying around, getting scanned, going into google.. so you'll easy burn a few hundred gigs when you get some good listings ...

+ don't forget a anti hontlinking htaccess coz fucking fusker & boards will leech your files too

That would depend on your succes and number of partneraccounts. Its hard to give an average.
Some only need 20 gb a month...others 70 mbps a month

movies or thumbs? either way the longer you submit the more youll need. start on a small plan that you can move up with.

A submitter with a good database and partner accounts can burn 300 gigs but if you're just starting out with an average database and submit one gallery per day then expect to burn 60 gigs.

for pic galleries, about 200 gigs a month, if you submit about 5 a day to the TGPs that you have partner accounts with, and a couple of them daily, using Chameleon.
At least, that is my case.

bout 1-2 gigs, I just redirect to dialers, an toolbars :winkwink:

What is a newbie submitter going to do with this, besides waste money?

If you're serious about submitting on a regular schedule, your best bet would be find a host that will give you a low-end dedicated server package (1-3 mbps) and is willing to upgrade your plan when you start pushing your limits. Most hosts should be able to help you with this. We're talking anywhere from $100-300. If that is a little too much for you, get a semi-dedicated package. Those usually go for $50-200. A virtual account you'll blow out pretty quick and isn't near as cost efficient.

There's no way for anyone to tell you how much bandwidth you'll blow. There are far too many variables. Pictures, movies, listings, partner accounts, paid listings, etc.

Start with a package that you can afford, submit regularly, and you'll be golden.

My movie galleries use between 150 and 200 mbps.

It has been pointed out already, but it really does depend on a few things. Movies or thumbs, sizes of the movies or thumbs, where you're submitting to, where your listings are on the page, etc. Most months my galleries are doing around 10 mbps on a 95th percentile plan, but last week I had a al4a listing, a worldsex listing, and a hun listing all in the same week, so currently I am at around 15mbps for the last 30 days.

I was more targetting the more established submitters as well as anyone who happens to read this thread whos already pushing that or near that amount.

600 gigs per month on CamCutie.com alone....I get listed on TheHun.com about twice per week usually.
