computer monitor probs...
:error
I Just reinstalled windows on a pentium 4 computer I have. while windows was reinstalling the monitor shut off by itself (went into sleep mode maybe? i couldnt get it to come back on). I thought that was weird so i just left it for about 30 min to see if it would come back on by itself. it never came back on so I rebooted. now my monitor shuts off by itself right after it the Windows XP boot up screen. the cpu is on but I just cannot see shit bc the monitor turns off. i have switched monitors out and the same thing happens, so I know its not the monitor. its not a warez version of xp btw if that is of any concern, totally legit copy. anyone ever have this problem ? WTF is going on... I googled around and couldnt find anything... |
Try to boot xp into save mode and then try updating your grafics card drivers or something like that..

I'm having the same problem ever since my XP updated on friday.
I'm not sure if it's my monitor, graphic card or maybe something to do with a driver. I had to install an old 15" monitor and switch over to vga mode to get it to work. |
Sounds like the resolution/color settings/frame rate are wrong. The monitor shuts off because it doesn't support the current settings.
