Flooding aroung the world (CR)

Costa Rica declared a national emergency Tuesday because of flooding along the Central American nation's Caribbean coast which has killed at least two people and forced the evacuation of 7,500 others.
Heavy rains since the weekend have sent water overflowing from rivers and floods have damaged 12 bridges and roads.
President Abel Pacheco signed a decree to free up funds to aid those who were evacuated and pay for rebuilding work.
Rescue workers have reported two dead to date, with another five missing, and about 7,500 people have been sent to churches and other shelters since the flooding began.

Rescue workers have been unable to reach some of the affected towns, including indigenous reserves around Alta Talamanca.

The flooding has damaged banana plantations but has not affected coffee-growing areas of Costa Rica, a major grower in Central America.

The area affected, Limon is on the carribbean side and isn't very well protected at all. The center of CR is protected by mountains and the Pacific side doesn't seem to have much happen to it....

The Caribbean is not a good place to be right now (anywhere in the Carribbean) I'd think, what with all the earthquakes in the Atlantic happening or predicted :2 cents:

To let everybody know , there is a bright spot to all of this:
The whole country has united an collected over $500.000 in food and money, and still growing to help all those people in Limon
