Another big traffic domain hijacked!
(do not click!!) http://www.boobza.com
Belongs to a partnersubmitter of mine, has been submitting with this gallery for a longgg long time. Seems like is is jacked by the same people who nailed Sleazy. The same dialer/ Adult.com pay per click landing page. Make sure you lock your domains! These guys are on the roll... Boobza.com was an impressive project, all down the drain. Hundreds thousands uniques. Be warned! (the domain was registered at register.com) |
Holy crap !!! Why they fuckin' enabled this domain transfert shit ? I would kick the guy's ass who made this stupid decision !!! Damn, sorry to hear that man ! :(
|
jesus, that sucks
REGISTRAR LOCK PEOPLE!!!! |
What do you mean by hijacked?
|
Image they stole your prime domain and started installing dialers/redirects... I can imagine Sleazy went nuts over his hijack. ouch! Not a nice way to start the day!

Damn another domain hijacked
|
No clue, but like I said, Sleazy said his *was* locked.
Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to jack a domain is insignificant next to the power of GeorgeK. |
damn this new domain shit is fucking crazy..this is just the begginnig
|
Thats so sorry. But you can't "sleep" on this biz .. so many things going on daily ... but of course it's very sad.
|
this is not new.
|
Totally shitty I can't remember when there has been more jacks in such a short period of big names.
|
Sounds like it's time to break someones legs... Or at least sue them for damages.

If something doesn't change, things will only get worse. If one or two people have found a way to get around "locked" domains, then within a few months there will be a hundred of them. If locking doesn't help, we are all in big trouble.
|
This is getting worse and worse

I better go and have a look at our domains

That sucks big time. I locked mine right away.

This is very true. Something needs to be changed quickly. I am sure once a big main stream Domain is hacked we will see that change........ |
Hi folks!
First time here, though I used to read the board for awhile being a lurker, but this case is pushing me to speak out. On the first note wish to send Greetings to all good ppl that listed my pages over time! Then I go to the topic. The domain name that strobi mentioned above is mine. I'm sad this happened, but think this situation with hi-jacking may grow up worse and wider so wish to share my 2 cents on the matter and will try to express it in this post. Some details. I am still using Register.com as a registrar, lets call it (R). "boobza.com" (B) was stolen by 15-jan-2005, i.e. illegally transferred to another registrar (directi.com) from (R). (R) keeps silence for more than 48 hours since my first Trouble Ticket that I opened in their system, and still no human response from there. About 20 hours ago I got automated response from [email protected] (email to them was sent out about 20 hours after I showed domain theft), and after awhile status of (B) has become "Suspended" (I mean Whois data, once again Thanks strobi who noted it first) and Dig [email protected] returned clear list of GTLD's with no traces of hi-jacker. In other words, we can see some action was done by that new registrar, directi.com So I would counsel Sleazy Dream this effective moment. Now let's return to (R). Of coarse, this affect only those of us who uses their service. This is the fragment of the email message I received from them 12/29/2004: believe me it worth "copy and paste"... --- We're upgrading the systems underlying our Web site to make it easier for you to manage your services. As part of this upgrade we'll be modifying our Services Agreement (see below) however, there's one major change we'd like to make you aware of that may affect your services: **** Domain Name Locking **** We will be automatically locking your domain name at the time we migrate your account to our upgraded system. Domain name locking is a new feature that helps prevent your domain name from an unauthorized transfer to another registrar. You will be able to unlock your domain name at any time after we migrate your account to our upgraded system. Your services will be upgraded to the new system beginning no less than 30 days from the date of this notice. We will notify you by email closer to the date you will be upgraded to our new system. Until your services are upgraded, they will be governed by the terms and conditions of the existing Services Agreement and your domain name will not be locked. --- Now all you see clear and sharp that in "no less than 30 days" from 12/29/2004 our "domain names will not be locked". They simply have not yet upgraded. Great Service. High Class Operation. That's my 2 cents. I am totally shocked and pissed. So, I have to ask all of you who read this and have posted my pages, please, remove links to my galleries hosted with this domain (www.boobza.com) from your sites and databases. Even if I will get the name back I will no post from it anymore. I also ask you to ban it from your site completely and please, share this info with your colleagues and partners. Best regards! Chris P.S. I'm still trying to contact Register.com on this matter. A new TT third day in a row. |
Also, this url may be useful:
http://reports.internic.net/cgi/regi...lem-report.cgi I reported details of this case there. |
Don't the sponsors that the hijackers are promoting know who it is? the money has to go somewhere?
|
Geez mate, sorry to hear! Fucking unreal!!

I had about 40 domains registered with register.com, I balked at them to lock the domains down after the new ICANN regs kicked in, they said don't worry about it, I bitched again and got some outsourced call-center drone in India who said that they would lock down the domains, another week went by, I called my rep and told them I am not going to dick around with them any longer, they lost their rep with me and all the bullshit, and they all went to another registry where the domains are locked by default. FUCK REGISTER.COM!!! Check this out, its only going to get worse before it gets better... http://www.merit.edu/mail.archives/nanog/msg04382.html |

Whois Data Problem Report System (WDPRS) http://wdprs.internic.net/ is a security hole that some folks have exploited to register other people's domains *legally* ... for more details, search for wdprs on Google, etc.
Reason for mentioning this topic is that many folks are being led to believe that Registrar Lock will secure their domains - yes, it will to some extent, but Registrar-Lock" offers *absolutely NO protection* for folks filing Whois Data Problem Reports for domains they desire - if the registrant doesn't respond prompty, their domain can be suspended, and even deleted in just mere days! And sadly, every registrar I've contacted so far regarding the WDPRS has stated they would suspend/delete domains within 5 to 15 days if they didn't get a response from the registrant within that timeframe; guess they figure no one ever goes on holiday :( I've yet to find a registrar that puts the registrant's interests ahead of that of the person making the complaint; registrars seem more than content to suspend/delete domains first and ask questions later when it involves the WDPRS. Lastly, the WDPRS is already being used by some domain name speculators and others to grab other people's domains - the WDPRS security hole is very real and continues to remains wide open! Ron |

If your whois is fake you are violating TOS. Never the less I can see plenty of areas where this form and procedure could be abused. Money Money Money... |
thats rough i'm glad all ove my domains are locked ;)
|
the sad thing is that these people dont care what names get jacked. They get paid one way or another, and that is all they are worried about.
|
Fuck, that sucks so much. Whoever enacted this new thing allowing people to do this needs to get their ass fucking kicked.
|
Sorry to hear about this shit Chris, it truely sucks :(
