A weekend television weatherman was fired after he made an on-air racial slur about Martin Luther King Jr., station officials said.

Rob Blair of KTNV-TV was delivering the extended forecast Saturday morning when he said: "For tomorrow, 60 degrees, Martin Luther Coon King Jr. Day, gonna see some temperatures in the mid-60s."

Poor man. Well, what goes around comes around. :(

A bit excessive? I don't know how many shows exploit the use of the word "cracker" as a disparaging remark for white people. Yet it's tolerated. Now - I won't get into wether he was right or wrong, as he was clearly in the wrong. But being fired? I don't know.

probably was joking around the station that night and it accidentally slipped out...not justifying it..just can't see a guy going on the air and destroying his career like that on purpose.

If you RTFA, it says he made a slip of the tounge and publicly appoligized for it.

a couple years ago there was one who lost his job because he liked to flash newspaper boys and assorted girl scouts who rang his doorbell...

Las Vegas definatly has a unique and very different breed of wacko's. I lived there when I was a kid so I know its true.
