Will any pop musicians of today be around 10 years from now?

Off the top of my head, I can only think of a handful:
Velvet Revolver (If Scott doesn't tailspin again)
Green Day (If they don't get burned out)
Deftones (They love experimenting with new sounds, and they are a real touring band)
U2 (They will never disappear)
Korn (They're obsessed with touring and they seem to keep evolving)
Tool (Wayyy too talented not to be around)

I think these bands will still be alive and kicking as long as they don't burn out themselves. Everybody else seems pretty damn disposable. Sadly, these will be the "legends" of our day in the eyes of pop culture.

If these bands dont survive then for sure the members will be around doing some sort of project or other. 10 years isnt too long for legendary bands. most of these bands listed have been together longer then that already.

Both are platinum plus artists...I'd consider them pop.

It's not at all downplaying their talent.... I love both bands, and Tool has one of the best drummers I've ever heard in my life. :2 cents:

polish_aristocrat 01-18-2005 07:33 AM

Is Offspring pop?

lol

hova 01-18-2005 07:35 AM

Ashley Simpson

Sarah_Jayne 01-18-2005 07:35 AM

Coldplay could carry it off for that long if they want to. The middle of the road is a safe path to walk and they do have talent even if they aren't really my type.

Originally yes.... but the meaning has changed. Now it's more like the new / most popular style of music at the time which is britney spears style singing teeny bopper actresses it seems.

Kiss and rolling stones

Spunky 01-18-2005 07:43 AM

Lol you picked bands that are on their way out..I would be very surprised if any of those would

potter 01-18-2005 07:45 AM

uh, U2 has been around for nearly 30 years. I'd say they've already "lasted" and shouldn't be on a list with the rest of those bands.

Mark-JoinRightNow 01-18-2005 08:52 AM

Funny, I really can't think of any. I don't have an artist that I'm going crazy for right now.
