I don't know how good of pets they would make. Seems like they would be kind of boring...

Entropy 01-17-2005 11:47 PM

you can train hedgehogs to do anything a dog can do...

...i have no idea what i'm talking about...

pornguy 01-17-2005 11:59 PM

I think they are almost the same as taking care of a hamster except for the quills. :1orglaugh

I had one a few years ago... It was a pretty cool pet I guess, when we first got it, it was all shy and would just roll up into a big spikey ass ball and you couldn't do anything but pick it up with leather gloves. Once it got used to people it was chill and would let you hold it and would just walk around, nothing to exciting, but girls always loved it. :thumbsup

My first hedgehog I named "Prick" - he was cool but he died a week later so I went back and got another one for free. I named her "Stickers" - she was very cool, active mostly at night and she lived for over 5 years! The cats were always trying to get in her cage :) found my devon rex trapped in there one time when I came home LOL They are easy to take care of and fun to show off, but if you're looking for a snuggly playful pet look elsewhere. If you want a cool exotic mammal, get one! Mine loved eating dry cat food so it was affordable to take care of.

Stickers passed away in the night looking very peaceful on SuperBowl Sunday in 2003

My best friends have one that I "hedgehog-sit" when they are out
of town and he is adorable, but a little painful.

He used to make this hissing sound and curl up in a ball when
I had to take him out of his cage...but now he seems to know me
and let's me pick him up and chill with him.

But the food he eats. Ughhhh.
Smushed up bugs and live worms. :Oh crap

My cousin had one for 6 years. bit me at least 5 times. bit everyone actually. Including her.
