A lot of people come back sick from those. Too dry and germs just love it. Plus all the people in one closed place.

Our immune systems are not used to six thousand webmasters in the same space, hugging and exchanging bodily fluids...randomly shaking hands, drinking out of the same cup......tongueing, etc.

I didn't go this year but i sure was sick as hell last year after i got back home...

Because you have a few thousand people from all over in tight space that just flew in an airplane that recycles air. They are all up in each others faces very close to talk because the noise is so loud. Airplanes are germ traps, I almost always get a cold after a long flight. Then toss in the booze, lack of sleep etc. You are talking germ swap city.

A. Webmasters from all over the world come together. Each of us in the different parts of the world have been exposed to certain flus and viruses. We?re usually immune to the bugs we?ve already been exposed to not the stuff from the other side of the world.

B. Drinking our asses off, not getting enough sleep, and exerting energy all day long for a week lowers our immune systems.

First time I never got sick but I get those flu shots now before the show, and do not run myself down...others in our booth got the cold...go figure.

Alcohol, poor sleep, interaction w/ strangers, touching things with germs, being in an unfamiliar place...

people already sick coming into town for a convention of smoozing and boozing not sleeping or eating right and recontaminating the general populus...everyone ends up sick for awhile.

Vegas has always been my worst show, I cant sleep, I cant eat over there, next to that awesome amounts of drinks are being forced down my throat... and next to that lots of contact with people from all over the world.

I had to leave 2 days earlier this year because of this :thumbsup
