What's the point in an awesome airport? I just want a starbucks, a mcdonalds, and a chair to sit on while I wait for my flight.

CHICAGO (AP)--O'Hare International Airport handled nearly a million flights in 2004, a record that boosts the Chicago airport's claim of being the world's busiest, officials said.

A surge in regional flights pushed the number of takeoffs and landings at O'Hare to 992,471 last year, a 6.6% increase over 2003, the Federal Aviation Administration said Monday.

Regional jets accounted for more than 40% of the approximately 2,850 daily flights at O'Hare, up from less than one-third of all flights three years ago, officials said.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport came in second, with 962,460 flights in 2004, according to the FAA. Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport handled 811,381 flights.

Flights are not passengers

According to who? You?

Counting passengers is more accurate because a "flight" can be anything from a single person taking off in a little Cessna to a Boeing 747

So counting take-offs and landings is misleading

Weather conditions throughout the US and Canada effect air traffic at Ohare. Last time I was in Montreal, I sat on a plane on the runway for 8hrs before we left, so should I say Montreal airport blows  You can have NYC :helpme

Let's see how much you like it the first time you get mugged in it's only greenspace Central Park...by Juicy and MrIzzz :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

New York was fucking amazing, i loved the people, the sights everything, there is no way to see everything in the 5 days i spent so i am heading back next month, i liked it that much, i played the "canadian moose" joke to about every person :1orglaugh

ill have to get some pics up here later on i gotta do some running around, i didnt sleep last night cause i had an early flight and went to bed 5am the 2 other days before that and i am not tired. :1orglaugh

also i had a big scare, i always get a large sum of $ into my paypal in usd each month, i brought my card because my mainstream pays in usd, i lost the card with $4k on it, luckily i tipped the waiter real good and he turned it in and thus i got it back. PHEWF

O'Hare is the last place you would want to land a Cessna 172 into, we have Palwaukee Airport for general aviation. Smallest plane that lands at O'Hare is usually those SAAB puddle-jumpers.

Oh shit. You're describing my NY experience from 15 years ago. First day in Manhattan car gets broken into for a carton of cigarettes, couldn't find any place to sleep so we thought let's camp out in their park, only to be scared by giganto rats and strange lunatics angry at the moon..literally. I remember thinking "I can't wait to get back to nice, peaceful Chicago"

MrIzzz 01-17-2005 05:04 PM

wtf? you come to my hometown and you dont want to even cuddle or get some dinner???

Never? Good luck.

pushpills 01-17-2005 05:20 PM

they were probably icing the plane and salting the runway. its 10 degrees out.

of course then theres the 99/100 chance it was the airlines fault too.
