Accident update:

In reference to this thread.

Somebody asked why the Yukon owner did not move their car after the first car hit it. Here are a few more details....

The Yukon slid down the hill, jumped the curb, and got stuck in a yard. The other truck involved slid down the hill, hit the Yukon, spun around, and died. Then I came along, slid down the hill, hit the Yukon, and was also stuck until the ice thawed.

Here are some pics. The majority of the damage done to the Yukon was done by the front bumper of the other truck. The damage is nowhere near as bad as I was expecting and luckily nobody else slide into me over night. :)

On another bad note.....My insurance company made the requested change to increase my liability a few months ago but at the same time, they seem to have raised my deductible to $1000.00 instead of the $500 I wanted. Bastards. I'm not even sure how much the damage is to my Jeep. I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning. I already have an appointment for the appraisal and a loaner car from the body shop is waiting for me.

Here's the hill I slid down and the other truck that hit the Yukon.

Vehicle damage...The other truck did the majority of the damage to the Yukon but only has a couple of scratches.

Relish XXX 01-16-2005 06:25 PM

On the bright side none of you are hurt and pretty soon you will have forgotten all about it. Bit of a bitch at the moment though.

Mr Pheer 01-16-2005 06:27 PM

I know it was icy and thats a pretty steep hill... but did you have it in 4 wheel drive at the time?

How bout 2,611 miles west of San Diego? That's where we are movin' in the Summer. The only problem with ice there will be what flavor shave ice you want. :)

Raven 01-16-2005 06:36 PM

I'm just glad you're okay!

There will always be another car; but, there is only one of you!

It's clear because it warmed up and the ice melted. The accident happened last night.

I also got sick and tired of the Portland weather. It was miserible. I made the move down to San Diego about 5 years ago. Gave up my "Oregon Citizenship" within a week. lol But, I didn't like San Diego. It's often overcast half the day, and although it was heaven compaired to Portland it wasn't the amount of sun I was looking for. Moved from there to Huntington Beach. Same thing with the clouds. Almost 2 years ago I moved out to Palm Springs, and love it. Sunny year round. Perfect pool weather for 6 months of the year.

xclusive 01-16-2005 08:53 PM

sorry man

Illicit 01-16-2005 08:57 PM

damn that sucks... at least no one got hurt

fusionx 01-16-2005 09:31 PM

Take the Yukon owner to court, show the pics, and say he rear-ended you :-)

brand0n 01-16-2005 09:49 PM

what years your jeep? mines an 00.
so a grand and its fixed? make the girl who needed the ride..

newbreed 01-16-2005 09:54 PM

Eeek. Glad to hear you aren't hurt, but it sucks your Jeep got a little damage. Just thank God a cop wasn't around and threw a ticket for failure to control or some crao like that on top of everything!

TheMob 01-16-2005 09:57 PM

pushpills 01-16-2005 10:07 PM

sounds like a troubled girl. did you ask her when she turns 18 and get her number?

pornguy 01-16-2005 10:08 PM

Sliding down a hill in a car really sucks.

Bad.

Persius 01-16-2005 10:11 PM

1996 Jeep look like one ... i just got rid of one i owned ... sucks about the insurance thing

LA Mike 01-16-2005 10:11 PM

Thats just crazy how everyone slid down and hit the same spot.. I wonder if you would have had 4 wheel drive if you would have made the hill.. and man I cant imagine whatwould have happened for someone driving down the hill

Workshop_Willy 01-16-2005 10:12 PM

Is that the Bull Mountain area? Looks like west of town. I used to live in Beaverton.

SinBucks 01-16-2005 10:14 PM

damn thats a hill and a half. I had to pick up a chick that was on a hill like that. we left her car there because just us closing the door after she got out made it slide even more. ice is not fun.

ronaldo 01-17-2005 09:27 AM

Glad you're alright man, and that is one STEEP fuckin' hill.

StuartD 01-17-2005 09:34 AM

indeed.. that's harsh man. I'm glad you were all alright though. These things always suck because no matter what, insurance screws you in the end.... even though it's supposed to be there to HELP. Ya right.

count bling 01-17-2005 09:38 AM

damn, glad you're okay.
