Who's got a Content Provider script?

That's right, a Content Provider script ... NOT a Content Management Script. Got the best one of those already!! :)

The kind for a content provider ... PHP-driven, tons of stats that can be tossed around (this many ebony sets, this many asian pics, that many vidoes), searchability, shopping cart, goes to a processor, yadda yadda ...

Who's got one and what's the best one around with the best features and how much? Thanks!

Contact me ICQ 16075497 or [email protected] - I have a very nice one

MikeXAMO 01-15-2005 02:15 AM

honestly I've never heard of a content provider script.. most content providers do their own custom shit, I can't imagine a big market for something like that (unless some programmers have some shit laying around)

Baddog hit me up later (Tomarrow perhaps) I am curious meself about a out of boxer:P)

The ContentShopper script can easily be adapted for your personal use

Dravyk 01-15-2005 03:54 AM

Mike, you're right about not much market. That's one big reason I've never transformed Content God into one. Besides, CG is Perl which is what's required for massive, heavy-duty site creation, and so it purposely not made for what I have in mind here which is more a real-time delivery system with extensive MySQL connections (ergo Php is better for that use.)

BD, you hit it on the head when you said "can be adapted for personal use". I have something in mind that goes way beyond a content provider script, but something which such a script would be the "perfect core engine" on which to add on greatly expanded and totally different functionalities for my own usage. :)

Late now, I too will hit you up sometime later on Saturday, BadDog.

Use OSCommerce if you are selling your content, it will do what you described and it's free.

I know that program well, and for many things it's kick-ass. However, it doesn't provide enough (even with plugins) of the core functionality of the what I need. It would take far too much additional coding when compared to a solid content provider's script. That said, do appreciate your taking the time to make the suggestion, newbreed.

Ah shit, just had spend 10 minutes of redoing zll the typos. Eyelids are closing. Off to bed for now.

Thank you, I think the CS script, adapted for your needs might be a little closer to what you are seeking.

Hmmm, i know a few people who used it with no problems for a long time with minimal mods and they never had a complaint, but good luck in your search!

newbreed 01-15-2005 04:35 AM

Hey Dravyk, hit me up sometime and tell me what everyone else offers you as far as functions and price. I will show you the same thing for free or very little in cost by using OSC. I know it can be done, and for much much less. Or send me over ICQ a list of your needs and I will show you the contribs and how to do each one OR who to hire for a small fee to mod whatever contrib you may need.
