nice job, just one thing ... you have/offer no awareness. I understand the forum is good for that but I mean a place where you will be posting facts. (My biggest bitch is usually the lack of info.)

mkx 01-14-2005 01:38 PM

Looks good :)

Basic_man 01-14-2005 01:41 PM

Looks good brand0n ! Hope you gonna add a PICTURES section with lots of juicy buds !

hova 01-14-2005 01:46 PM

Looks good!

warlock5 01-14-2005 01:57 PM

Make sure you have an HTML search-engine friendly copy of that so you don't miss out on a lot of good traffic because it couldn't get indexed.

calmlikeabomb 01-14-2005 02:02 PM

Looks good man.

One suggestion.... as warlock mentioned the search engines wont be able to navigate that flash file. You should make a site map link below it.

Manowar 01-14-2005 02:03 PM

looks great brand0n

esluts 01-14-2005 02:18 PM

brand0n 01-14-2005 02:28 PM

html version for se eh? ok.

sickkittens 01-14-2005 02:29 PM

Not bad. I'd rather just stay w/ HTML.

flashfire 01-14-2005 02:30 PM

dont that look way to cluttered to you?
i want to bottle neck the traffic, and send them to 1 of 6 spots. i think the traffic would be alot more productive that way, and my sponsors, and advertisers would end up with better conversions.

As a surfer, I like as much possible info in one place as possible. So long as it's easy to navigate.

If what you have there is just a hub or filter that then leads to the actual portal of information...then you're most definitely on the right track.

Jace 01-14-2005 03:25 PM

i have to agree with candyflip, if I am coming to a site that I know has 6 things, i would rather see all of those with little blurbs from each on the front page...

the hightimes site is a great example www.420times.com is all right too, but he just used the vbulletin community thing

Kristian 01-14-2005 03:31 PM

My first impression is that your vertical nav bar needs to be centred. Right now it is about 100/150 pixels too far left. The effect is jarring and a little annoying.

Work on the logo.

brand0n 01-14-2005 04:26 PM

kristen, did you click the link above? there is no vert nav bar
:thumbsup

wargames 01-14-2005 04:26 PM

Brandon,

You know those navigational flash buttons that travel vertically down the screen?

They're off-centre. Too far left. :thumbsup

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 01-14-2005 04:37 PM

Good point. I've read about studies on how splash pages and pages with more links than info usually turn away surfers.

BradM 01-14-2005 08:43 PM

Can I be honest dude? I don't like flash, I'd rather see a nice clean HTML portal landing page. Maybe some articles, some sort of webmd.com style look. With links to everything from there. That's how I always saw the site working.

But I am one opinion in a thousand really. :2 cents:

ahh but one of the valued ones

the reason i went with flash and just 6 main links was i firmly belive in keeping something simple. ive got to keep in mind the traffic im dealing with here alot of the times is mentally numbed. with that in mind, i dont want to loss them in blah blah blah, about news most of them dont really care, or have the patience to read.

i think that if i just cut to the chase, stuff the products that i want to sell down there necks before they are gone it will go over well.

and ofcourse the forum is already very much alive, so theres always the ton of residual traffic so the people that do close the site due to lack of shit loads of information will be covered there.

time will tell

what do you guys think of the free emails? I think thats going to be a big hit. yournames at weed dot coms. setting up an ad supported email client :thumbsup
