born4porn 01-14-2005 08:29 AM

I was surprised at some of the ommissions! :D

Im not sure what you mean by started. It may be the first commercial website/page, but the .edu/.net/.mil sites were around before this.

Maybe so, but these are the oldest .com domains.... which are pretty shitty to be honest. :1orglaugh

sickkittens 01-14-2005 09:14 AM

What's funny is the time spent in between registrations.

Violetta 01-14-2005 09:17 AM

What I meant is that this is where "it" all started. "It" meaning registering a domain name and then hosting it in pursuit of $$$$$$$, what us webmasters do :pimp

Really? Didn't Bill Gates in 1992 say that the internet was nothing more than a fad?

EyesWideShut 01-14-2005 09:33 AM

I'm really curious to know how much money it would have been to register a dot com back then

woj 01-14-2005 09:34 AM

cool list, but kinda interesting that most of these companies are not even web related....

Dalai lama 01-14-2005 09:34 AM

WHY would that be shocking. These names were registered between 1985-1987? WTF kind of site could you build in the 80's? Most home PCs had less than 256K of RAM. WTF were they going to be able see?
