Are you using a CRT or LCD monitor???

I've still been using a CRT, about to treat myself to a 19" LCD though, it's about time, they are pretty low cost now. Don't need the space behind my monitor but the picture is better on LCD and they look cooler so it's time I bought one, my good ol' magview is startin to get screwy on occasion!

What about you?

nofx 01-14-2005 05:30 AM

xxxoutsourcing 01-14-2005 05:40 AM

LCD...had to use a CRT with an older Compaq laptop which was not doing well with LCD flat screens, but it blew on New Years weekend, so I am now LCD.

CyberMax 01-14-2005 06:57 AM

newegg.com has some good prices

320-600. If you want a sony, be prepared to spend extra for the logo on it. I'm probably going to go with the "vision" its only 350 has nice specs and great reviews.

I'd have gotten an lcd sooner but I need at least 19" and couldnt rationalize spending 700 or so on it 6-8 months ago when I still dont need it at all. The only thing behind my desk is a wall, not people walkin by lookin at it.

shuki 01-14-2005 07:32 AM

I just ordered 2 sony 19 inch LCD's from newegg. Should arrive on the 18th.

The next question is what dual head vid card to get?

dready 01-14-2005 08:10 AM

I'm still using a CRT... Flat panels just aren't of decent enough quality yet. They are getting pretty damn close though... maybe the next generation I'll have to switch. Even now the Samsung 710T's are looking pretty good.

nojob 01-14-2005 08:12 AM

I am actually using a laptop now. but on the reg comp there is lcd

s9ann0 01-14-2005 08:13 AM

when I sit in front of a CRT I feel like I am being microwaved

jt420 01-14-2005 08:15 AM

still on crt though im looking to move over to dual lcd soon

dready 01-14-2005 08:16 AM

No flatpanel in the world can come close to the image quality of a good CRT.

Shooter 01-14-2005 08:16 AM

Used to have a 19" CRT, just got an LCD bout two months ago

okdesign 01-14-2005 08:42 AM

tranza 01-14-2005 09:38 AM

Firehorse 01-14-2005 09:40 AM

I am using a Flat Screen LCD, LapTop, and a CRT.

Furious_Male 01-14-2005 09:41 AM

19" LCDs here. I am slowly replacing all my work stations with them in both my offices. What a difference.

austinth 01-14-2005 09:43 AM

4 17" lcd 3 samsung one sony plus the two laptops so that makes 6

Minte 01-14-2005 10:04 AM

all LCD here, 2-19" mitsubishi's at the office and 2-21" viewsonics at home

http 01-14-2005 10:11 AM

15" LCD on my notebook

Too bad the graphics card isn't good enough to support a big, external LCD

Jer 01-14-2005 10:12 AM

which did you get?

flashfire 01-14-2005 02:19 PM

19" flat CRT and a projector with a 106" screen (not usually for work or GFY)

rickholio 01-14-2005 02:20 PM

Hmmm... I don't know how I should vote. I'm using side-by-side LCD + CRT. I suppose I should put LCD, as that's my primary display.

My text looks so beautiful on the LCD sourced from my GeForce 6800OC's DVI-D. I spend all day staring at text while I code, I figure this monitor has bought me an additional few years of usable eyes before I go totally blind. :D

dennisthemenace 01-14-2005 02:36 PM

The Sony 21" CRT on my main machine is still kicking so that. On the machine in the living room I have LCD though..

Manowar 01-14-2005 02:37 PM

LCD for the past 2 1/2 years

SinSational 01-14-2005 02:38 PM

i'm currently using a crt but the thing is on it's way out. still waiting on a couple 17" dell hdtv/lcd monitors to be delivered.

dready 01-14-2005 02:39 PM

Damn this thread! I just bought 2 Samsung 710T's because of this thread!

Well I really just needed an excuse... so many things made me wish I had duals again. :)
