Vonage Pros/Cons?

I make and recieve quite a few long-distance calls weekly, primarily local though, and the $25/month or whatever seems quite good for this service.

Anyone have any experiences with them?

I appreciate it.

Been using it for like a year , works perfect only fault is if internet is down so is the line other than that its juicy

my friend has it and when he calls me it will sound like shit 50% of the time. Cox is his ISP. My brother has it too and has Cox with no problems at all. My brother loves it.

it's a neat little program but I dumped it after my cable company offered me $20 a month for unlimited calling. Might switch back when I move to Kentucky as i'm not sure if my new cable company will off me such a deal and if so i'll sign up under you Juicy

AT&T CallVantage has a few benefits over Vonage, namely that you can have caller ID show up on other peoples' phones etc. I like it.

Just moved to Cancun and use Vonage for all our international calling. We love it....haven't had any trouble yet....

After I got vonage I called sprint and turned off my regular phone. Been using it over a year, no problems.

nojob 01-14-2005 12:49 AM

Vonage is the worst when you are trying to use the FREE FAX line that they throw in. Thanks vonage, for nothing at all.

mkx 01-14-2005 12:52 AM

Vonage has a nice system however you need a very fast cable internet connection. Also their customer service sucks ass. I had to wait 30 minutes on hold twice only to be disconnected somehow. Plus it was long distance as their toll free number doesn't work from Canada even though the toll free numbers they sell work from Canada and the USA.

Vonage works in Canada but you need a US shipping address and credit card to get the account set up and modem shipped. Unless you go with vonage.ca which probably sucks.

vonage ROCKS

if your connection sucks on it turn off the bandwidth saver and it will be crystal clear I have had it for 2 years now it has literally saved me thousands of dollars

I think barry had like 8 of them you can get it in canada now too

I got rid of my home phone! and its great to take with you when you travel while its not pluged in forward your calls to your cell phone and when you are somewhere that had highspeed just plug it in and you have your phone system any where you might be!

Just ordered it. Fingers crossed.

Mr. Marks 01-14-2005 01:02 AM

It's decent for a small to lower mid-sized operation
