gammae closes my PPS account after 6 sales (changes me to %)
 

"Hello,
We're sorry, but the traffic you send us does not generate enough sales.
(not enough renewals); we are paying more money than we can make with your
traffic. We have transferred your sign up account to our partnership
program...."
[they are paying for my sign ups up to now(they already paid for the 3 from last pay period)]

Is this normal? What other sponsors do this? I understand everyone has to make money - but I did not think 6 signups total was enough to determine this. All my sales to them were from SE Traffic. Places like ARS say they will never convert you - I do not think they (ARS) even have a partnership program. I only belong to one porn partnership program, and haven't really tried any others as of yet.

I am not ANGRY or anything, just kinda suprised I guess...

What can I do to make my traffic SELL better? It is already CONVERTING fine. I have top SE listing for Porno, Teen Sex, Lesbian Sex, Asian Porn...

It was only $25 per sign up, but I was converting at 1 in 52 and 1 in 25 (period 2 and period 1) for their video program. I promote mostly UltraViseos, but wanted a second option - as I promote UltraVideos - and then give them an option for a second video program. I spent exactly 24.52 promoting GoGo Videos - so I made over $100 in one month promoting that one program. Not alot - but if I can repeat the process with other programs - it all adds up. I promote anything and everything legal that I think will make money. I try not to keep all my eggs in one basket. Otherwise I would be promoting personal ads and topbucks all day long. I am already promoting them heavily - except for their fetish site which I am not sure how to promote.

Dude, fuckin lose that shit. That pisses me off. Don't send them one more hit.

So what's the point in switching that webmaster to a partner program, which depends on rebills?

Ya, they did this to me as well after 5 sales.. Converting pretty well, but they sent me almost exactly the same message. Apparently they think 5 sales is statistically significant. More likely, this is just their lame way to get everyone on their partner program.. (Although if their program retains that poorly, I sure wouldn't send it traffic, and don't any more)..

I kind of scratched my head and had a laugh when I got that message from gamma. ;>

We have to transfer accounts from the sign up program to the partnership when too many memberships do not renew and are canceled within the trial period. I have not looked at your stats (I do not have your adv_id), but suppose that if the 6 sign ups did not renew after the 4.95$ period, then we earned 30$, and paid you 150$ (not to mention if there are credits/charge backs on top of that). As you can see, it's hard to make money in such case. Cancelling on trial is a big factor in pay per join programs.

Too many cancels on trial is an indicator of fraud or really bad marketing on the part of the affiliate.

Perhaps you should talk to Gamma's marketing staff about some ways to promote their sites, I'm sure they know what's working for their best affiliates http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif

Hmmm, I don't know.... As a webmaster it's up to me to send you (the sponsor) traffic and hopefully signups. After that it is you (the sponsor's) job to retain the customer and entice them to buy further. It's my job to make the initial sell, it's up to you (the sponsor) to take it from there.

And $25 per sale is far below today's standard for a per-signup program.

And gamma swiched me and a few other webmasters from per-click to per-signup over a year ago, because the lousy 2 or 3 bucks per day we were making weren't converting for them. I didn't like that then, and I don't like this now. You mean if I send through a few sales this week and YOU (the sponsor) fail to convert them to full memberships that you will penalize ME by again switching me?

I'm sure that most webmasters are like me, in that they don't know who their surfers are, they just use the given banners and pics, and they use their own advertising savvy, and they send the hits. That's about all we can do. To always hold us accountable for your inability to retain the customer is just....wrong.

To my knowledge, maxcash doesn't do this, topbucks doesn't do this, stiffycash doesnn't do this, and neither does a lot of others, and most of them pay out more per sale, to the tune of $35-$50 per.

So again, I gotta say "hmmmm". I was about to start promoting gamma sites again, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts here. I'm willing to be convinced.

I sold over 100 memberships the last two weeks - and everyone else seems happy except gammae.

Anyone - please feel free to jump in with suggestions as how to improve rebills - as I am not privy to details on how my sites rebill.

My sites have good SE listings one is listed #5 for teen sex on Google. Lesbian Sex #4, Asian Porn #3 + I have many other SE listings. Anyone that wants to look at these sites and tell me what I am "doing wrong" feel free. I thought SE Traffic was "the best". Every single sale sent to gammae was from a PPC SE that I use for testing before designing sites around my sponsors.

As I stated above - I am more than willing to adjust my sales pitch if it is affecting my business partners.

However, since I am given no tools to measure this - I think it is unfair to have to email someone about 6 sales. Also, Is that REALLY my job? I realize that eventually these companies will go out of business if they can support rebills, but then they offer per sign up pay - and give no details as to how you are performing.

The only other company that has done this to me - was friendfinder - they were paying me $1.00 per free sign up (SHOWED THE PERFORMANCE IN THEIR STATS) and converted me to percentage. Now they are paying about $2.00 per sign up http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif

Like I said - I am not ANGRY (they are paying me for what I did - I only had a few ads up - it is their business), it is just that I am marketing to get people to sign up - as that is what I thought I was expected to do. I am fairly proud of myself as I have only been doing this a few months on the adult side - and think going from one membership a week to about 7 or 8 a day is pretty good. I do not even do TGPs anymore - which is SUPPOSED to be "shit traffic".

If PPS goes by the wayside - I will adjust, but for right now - it is much easier for me to measure ROI with PPS.
