I went in Selfridges today and browsed the food floor. It seems you can now buy... (oh and these are very real)

Fried BBQ flavoured grubs

Crispy ants

Real edible scorpions in sweets

And the best one...

Coffee from beans eaten by weasels and regurgitated. Apparently it gives the coffee an extra 'chocolatey flavour'.

Who the hell buys that stuff??

A ton of protien in grubs.

Eating bugs in not new, it has been around for ages. I am sure someone is saying: yah, it was the weirdest thing ... chickens ... the barbarians actually eat shit scratching chickens.

It's a long way from being new as like you say they're a great source of protein. Even so...fuck they're ugly looking things to want to pop in your mouth and even stranger to see them in Selfridges.

I'd still love to know what sort of person pops in for a pack of fried grubs when they feel peckish. We're short on tribesmen from deepest Bornio around these parts. :upsidedow
