Reflected.net - Customer letter (I am an owner)
Hello,
I'm an owner of reflected.net, and we're posting this to answer many peoples' questions about the impact of the FTC's charges on our operations. If you have any serious questions, please feel free to PM me. DHB daniel at reflected dot net ---------------------- Dear <Customer>, We are writing you to provide you with an update about the recent press from the FTC regarding Reflected Networks. As you can imagine, the events of the last few days have generated a high volume of inquiries from customers and other interested parties. We?d like to take this opportunity to explain to you a bit about what has transpired. As you may remember from the last email we sent, Reflected Networks changed hands of ownership last November. Substantially, the brand name, certain assets (i.e. servers) and the customer base were sold by Reflected Networks, Inc. of Nevada, to Reflected Networks, Inc. of Illinois. As part of the terms of the sale, the Nevada corporation was required to change its name to WTFRC, Inc. with the Secretary of State of Nevada. WTFRC, Inc. is not the same company as Reflected Networks, and WTFRC, Inc. does NOT conduct business as Reflected Networks, Inc. For verification purposes, this information is publicly available by visiting the Secretary of State's offices in the States of Illinois and Nevada online and conducting a few name searches: http://www.sos.state.il.us/CorpSearchWeb/corpsrch.html http://www.sos.state.nv.us/begin.asp We, the new owners of Reflected.net, do not belong to any affiliate programs, are not involved in any SPAM operations, and do not permit such operations to take place within our network. Most importantly, we'd like to reassure you that it will remain business as usual at Reflected.net. Our attorneys have been in touch with the FTC, and are working to get the inaccurate information stricken from the caption of charges (the part that says d/b/a/ Reflected Networks, Inc. under WTFRC, Inc.). The FTC will NOT be confiscating, seizing, or shutting off our servers, our customer's servers. You?ll also notice the WHOIS information for the domain reflected.net has been updated, as well as the contact info for our IP blocks. Since most of you work with Phil on a frequent basis you'd probably like to understand a bit about his involvement in WTFRC, Inc. and his role at Reflected here in Chicago. Phil was a minority shareholder in the old Reflected (now WTFRC, Inc.) of Nevada. When we purchased the Reflected brand and customers, we retained Phil as the director of operations, but he is neither a principal nor an officer of the company. It is important you understand that the allegations brought against WTFRC Inc. and Phil Doroff are purely of a civil nature, and not criminal - and that NO charges are filed against the Reflected Networks with which you conduct your business. In simple terms, the FTC is currently seeking monetary restitution, not jail time from the defendants, and the actions will not impact the high quality service we provide. If you wish to read any of the FTC?s filings, they are publicly available here: http://www.ftc.gov/os/caselist/0423168/0423168.htm. Again, it will continue to be business as usual here at Reflected - hopefully you got to meet us at Internext in Las Vegas, and of course we'll be in Miami this summer. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us with questions regarding your service with us. |

lol just joking with you. PMs are disabled here |
Good to hear that you made a better attempt at clearing up the confusion regarding the changes in ownership.
I would get on the ftc's case about saying wtfrc is D/B/A reflected. Make them say Formerly DBA reflected |
I guess its just strange that the former treasurer of reflected and the one named in the charges , happenes to work with the new reflected , but didnt commit any charges with the new reflected, only the old reflected.

good news...

Look foward to seeing how things work out.

Thank you!
Everyone,
Thanks for the kind words. I didn't know it, but I guess we don't have PM capability on this forum - so, if you have any questions you can email me: daniel at reflected dot net. We are working to have the charges updated to WTFRC, Inc. FKA Reflected Networks, Inc. (formerly known as) as it is a more accurate description. However, with either wording they're still referring to the Nevada corporation, and not our Illinois corporation. As I explained above, yes, Phil Doroff is our operations director. As to his role or actions at the old Reflected Networks, he was an owner and officer of the company, which is why he's named in the suit - whether he participated in the activities or not. I obviously can't comment (and frankly I have no clue) on his actions while the company was in Nevada, but in Chicago he has done an excellent job transitioning, running and growing the company. I think almost everyone who does business with us would have to agree. So, in closing, thanks again for the good words, and we'll still be around to serve you well into the future. DHB |
