Best FAQ question ever... from Compaq.

This is probably old, but I think it's hilarious that it's even an FAQ question.

That is the gut splitting funny, no matter the age, especially when you imagine that question in Homer's voice (not sure of the episode).

I've done the support thing for many years (Autodesk authorized CAD support as well our industry) and I must admit, 'they' make my day ... no shit.
Workin away, check the mail and ...
Bah hah hah Dear sir, please terminate my connection immediately as I am not happy with the internet. Ignore my request and there will be trouble!

Not many people would be able to get any work done after that, let alone hold back simple retorts such as:

Dear member 'X', a member of our support team is on this as we speak - we have book the next flight and when Joe gets there he will disconnect you from the internet as we are not looking for any trouble.

Years ago, I used to teach computer literacy to ex-cons and some of the assumptions they made were priceless.

Have you ever watched someone repeatedly press the [shift] key when prompted for 'any key' - (most programs ignore it, and Ctrl)...

lol, my cousin was fired from IBM support when he started laughing at someone that called in about the computer not working, went something like, my cousin asking if the computer was plugging correctly, and the answer being, yes, but the breaker is off cause we are renovating. (this was many years ogo, I hope no one is that clueless now)
