ePassporte problem
 
I tried making a purchase online...the company cancelled the order saying it was unable to process it. I tried again, same thing happened but the charges are still showing as pending in ePass.

I contacted ePass and they said I have to contact the site where I tried to make the purchase. Does this make sense? I always thought the credit card companies (in this case ePassporte) could just cancel everything all together?

That sounds very strange where is the main Epass office located? Maybe the site doesn't allow purchases from that country.

They can't just cancel a charge based on your word - what if it's pending and it will be settled? That's why only the merchant can cancel it.

After a few weeks it gets written off if the pending charge is not 'claimed'....

Its the same with all CCs

Most "free" sites work this way.... they auth a charge for a few dollars and eventually it expires and the money comes back onto your balance

That pending thing with ePass is a real hassle.
