OK...remember the other day when I tried to cook my foot? [PIC[

So tonight I am gonna fry up some fish. I get the oil in the pan and go in the living room to talk with my son while the pan heats up. Next thing I know, I look in the kitchen and I see nothing but orange flames. Me being the bright guy that I am panics. I forgot all they teach you about putting out grease fires and I am now going to attempt to carry this flaming pan, with 3 foot flames, out the door and dump it on the concrete. Needless to say, the hilarity ensued and I am now going to need to replace my carpet downstairs(caught it on fire) as well as the kitchen linoleum(yes caught this on fire too). Not to mention that I expect my entire hand to be one big blister by morning. Note the missing hair :) Well that hand caught fire lol. Typing all this with my left hand was a joy. I can't even imagine the pain one must endure when they get burned over like 50% of their bodies like you hear on the news. This pain is un fucking real. Luckily the house wasn't burned to the ground but I did everything in my power to try it seems.

Try to get some aloe or the Aloe sunburn gel - it'll make it less painful and prevent some of the blisters. Hubby burned the tips of all his fingers this week and that helped. Thank God your house is not on fire and your kid is fine!

That's not funny.. but it's hilarious the way you tell the story :1orglaugh

Get yourself an Aloe plant and rub that green ooze all over your hand.

I burned the palm of my hand and used Aloe gel (not sure exactly what kind) and gripped a frozen beer mug all day. Worked like a charm.

Hope you feel better :)

I gotta laugh it off, otherwise this pain is gonna get the best of me. Jesus I didn't know burns were like this lol.

eroswebmaster 01-11-2005 07:11 PM

holy fuck man...that looks bad...LOL
I had 2nd degree burns when a radiator cap exploded one summer.
My brother was also covered in 3rd degree burns and in a coma for months after his house caught fire...I don't care how I die...I just don't want to burn to death.

Which part isn't funny? The part where he tries to carry a flaming pan or the part where he sets the linoleum floor on fire? I thought the whole story was a riot :1orglaugh

Take care of that hand, man. Burns are nasty things.

Man that looks bad. An amusingly told story but that looks as painful as you describe it. I've had half-centimeter burns that hurt immensely, and also wondered how people with major burns can survive such pain. I'm surprised you're even doing the ice pack, I'd think a bowl of iced water would be provide more coverage. Aloe (either in plant form or in a cream/spray) really can help with temporary immediate pain relief. I've sprayed Solarcain every minute or so on burns before...if you don't have a topical burn reliever perhaps you could ask a friend to get some and bring it over. I'd reckon normal pain killers are a good idea too.

I don't know if the burn is bad enough, but I recall that with really bad burns, infection is a major concern. If you get a lot more blistering, I think it's probably worth consulting a physician about that risk. Or who knows, if the pain gets bad enough, you might want to go to an ER tonight to see if you can get some more serious pain relief.

By the way, great job of one-handed typing! :) Good luck to you.

damn nick..you fucked yourself up

Geezzz....I tried not to laugh after seeing the photo, but the way you told your unfortunate story was rather funny. Your burn looks pretty serious though - you might want to have a doc check it out as soon as possible as it looks like a second degree burn. Take care of your hand....the flooring is easy to replace, but a hand is a bit trickier.

austinth 01-12-2005 12:09 AM

dude, you gotta burst the blister now, then keep that burn wrapped in gauze soaked in saline or sterile water asap!!!!

Funky Bastard 01-12-2005 12:13 AM
