Should I do my own site?
 

I am not up with all of this computer stuff. I have done a lot of modeling for others but I am wondering if it is worth my time to pay somebody to make a site with me. I am bi-sexual and would be happy to do just about anything that is legal in the photos. With all the stuff out there how would people find me.
Sorry if this seems stupid. I am new to all of this.

Go get Dreamweaver. Building websites, has never been easier. If you can fill out the form to posta reply here, you can easily build your own site. Just study design and layout a little to see what's out there.

Then market, and push your site until you're blue in the face.

One way is too add your domain name in your signiture graphic. LOL

I do not know what you make when you do shoots with AM, but if he pays well, I wouldn't go through all the trouble of you own site. Think of all the hassle of chargebacks, administration, design, the same photoshoots etc..

I would think twice about it if I were you!

Redshoe has some great suggestions. Get dreamweaver, and learn to built sites. You'll save tons of money and time if you can do it yourself. There are lots of people here that are willing to help with developement questions if you run into problems.

One way to get a bunch traffic to your new site would be to offer your photos in trade for traffic. I've done this deal with more then a few models in the past and it's always worked out well.

LOL, that would have been clever but she really is thinking about doing this. She asked me about it during our shoot yesterday and I told her that I have never run a sucessful paysite and to ask around. She also mentioned that she was going to do this with another local photographer. That was about a year ago and he never paid her a dime.

3 years ago you could get away with it, but there is a lot more competition these days. The good news is that there are about 2 million webmaster resource sites/communities, so you can actually pick this shit up fast.

Photographers take pictures, webmasters run sites. It is not a good idea to confuse those two jobs.

I suggest you NOT to start your own site. At least a paysite one, because most probably you'll end up having few free trials per month from which a 10% will stay for the whole month. What I suggest now. Make a deal with some sponsors and run a live cam show for their paysites. It will be much more profitable and it won't cost you. Yesterday I checked Aaron's work and it's very good. You're on good hands. Through time we see girls that started their own paysites and see hits only from their friends that have supplied them free passwords!

as a former model I'd say that I have to agree that you should learn how to build sites.
You really can't make money off one paysite unless (like someone already posted) you are gonna spend 24/7 on a webcam acting as a sexy phsychologist for a lot of nuts.

When I first started getting interested in sites etc,I had someone build me a pay site and go 50/50% split in profits - and guess how much I've made???
