My site is in there from Dec. 1998 also but it's only the root page -- if you click any links it takes you to the year 2000 which is wierd... Anyway that's a really cool site -- but it pains me to know that I'm still sending traffic to fucking Shaw Internet!!!! Hehe a blast from the past though -- I had the condom project on my front page in '98.

WOW, that's amazing !!! I never knew that thing existed. Talk about a walk in the past. I look at my first domain back in 1998 and it's pretty strange. I'm racking my brain trying to think of my old free host address that I used for the 3 years before that, that'd really be interesting to see.

Very interesting indeed.
About the storage space: they only save the html code, not the images; by doing so, the space required is not so big (thatīs how google manages to keep a copy of the source codes of the pages they index). I once heard from a guy who works with SE design that ALL the Brazilian pages took just a few Megabytes to be stored. Of course, US web is much bigger, but so are the budgets. |
Their page actually talks about terabytes, which I believe, considering there are so many different versions of EACH page stored.
