SKYPE? Anyone use this telephony product?

Anybody use it? How good is it? I heard it's CD quality.

it's pretty good, and the rates for calling a land line telephone are real cheap, i use it.

Skype is cool.
I use it to call our international customers to their phones. A PC-2-Phone function works great.
And PC-2-PC is even greater. Works cool even with Modems!

Skype is the best p2p voice chat I've ever tried...

I tried it briefly with speakers and regular mic, worked ok. When the person I talked to, talked it was caught in the mic and shut off the speakers. I think it would work like a charm with a headset.

i had two charges from skype on my debit card.. i never even heard of them before.. took over a week to get a response from their help email and they have no customer service phone number listed on their website..from what i found out.. they have a big problem with fraud and theft.. but maybe the one's having problems are the ones who don't use their service.

for me sometimes the lag calling internet -> telephone is unbearably long.
I have 3Mbit DSL so it's not my line..

With a headset it is awesome. Sounds better than my landline.

The bottom line is customer service. Always.

The product is getting rave reviews BUT should something go wrong...

I'll use it anyway. It makes things convenient. Security issues I've got to look into.

ICQ has similar features? Or is Skype one step ahead?

No problems with SKYPE. Good service

Haven't used it myself, but a bunch of my mates swear by it. It's pretty much all they use to organise shit with eachother these days. And it's especially good for multiplayer gaming.
