Newport Beach and parts of Orange County under water this morning (pics)

I awoke this morning and my streets were submerged. The rain needs to stop. I got some pics and a little video. In the second portion, a guy in an Escalade purposely gases the suv and sprays me; just my luck :)

The third portion is the 405. They are placing the flood signs out now as cars have slid off the road.

All the pictures are Newport Beach, where the bays flooded over. That is about 25 yards from the sand...right infront of my apartment.

Crazy shit how much rain we have gotten

Kimmykim 01-10-2005 11:56 AM

Crazy up here too -- boats in the marina are filling with rainwater and actually starting to sink if they don't have cleared cockpit drains or self bailing bilges.

Cory W 01-10-2005 11:58 AM

My block can't hold anymore water. I honestly think if another downpour hits today, I will be in a motel.

I guess this is what they meant by the Perfect Storm...

Yo Adrian 01-10-2005 11:59 AM

Unreal, seeing pics like that from all around on the local news

BradM 01-10-2005 12:03 PM

We have the worst drainage systems in the world here. But I understand, you guys aren't used to rain. If this was Vancouver it would be business as usual.

I should be a reporter. I am doing a better job.

Damn Adrian, looking out our windows here in Irvine, I can see another downpour hitting Newport Beach.

Looks like Chopper and I may be headed for a hotel tonight!

Manowar 01-10-2005 12:06 PM

thats a mad load of rain. Never been flooded here, must be neat to be able to kayak down your street, but the amount of shit in my house that would be destoryed would remove that fun

Kimmykim 01-10-2005 12:17 PM

Weather.com said it's supposed to rain through tomorrow, as of yesterday. I'm scared to look at it again in case they add another day to it.

Weather has been super wild since the earthquake made the earth wobble...Snow in south texas, all the rain on the west coast super winds in England.

r3ap3r 01-10-2005 01:01 PM

The weather will get worst before it gets better. Just hanging in there and let hope for the best.

Vanilla DeVille 01-10-2005 01:09 PM

Wow... it's rainy here in AZ today too - luckily, no flooding yet.
