Computer Problems - Help!

So today I turn on my PC and it comes on, the windows (XP) comes up quickly and the screen goes black for 2 minutes. Then it comes on as if nothing happened.

I have checked the drive for errors, checked for a virus and have loaded nothing new to the system. The computer is a Gateway and is less that 1 year old, used only for video work.

Any ideas what would cause this and how to fix it? :helpme

Thanks to all in advance,
DWB

Have you done a RAM test? Video RAM is often shared and uses DMA as well as IRQs. A small problem in a single cell of RAm will cause this. There are many free testers out there but I would be happy to point you in the right direction if needed.

Drivers updated... used PC Doc to test everything. Still doing it. I'm at a loss.

Thanks for the help guys.
