I don't know if it runs in breeds or not but I've seen a lot of small breeds sleep like that. Sometimes they seem to have a reason, like warming their bellies by the fire or being petted.

Both my terriers sleep under the cover.... same spot everynight. One on the right side and the other on the left side. When they are ready to go to bed they nudge the blanket with thier nose until they can crawl under it. Soooo wierd. Also, I bought them a new kind of food the other day that has different types of bits in it and they eat only one type and then leave the rest. Thought that was wierd too lol.

cause ya know.. cold winter nights.. I tend to wake up and find myself in same position.. legs over the side of bed and nuts towards the heater
