the majestic 12 papers have been discredited by some, and credited by others. After reading books about it and most of the papers themselves, I completely believe that they are real and there is a government agency set up for the study of Extraterrestrials and their motives for being here.

actually you can discredit something, that doesn't mean its true or not.
UFO sightings have been discredited over the years by the Air Force, but all of their explanations are completely ridiculous - even more than UFO's in the first place! To name a few - swamp gas, flares, weather balloons...
The descriptions of the actual crafts and aliens themselves by Pilots, Military Officials, and Radar Operators of their movement should convince anyone that the Air Force is hiding something.

I don't claim that something is definitely false just because it has been discredited by some person or persons but the Majestic 12 papers are not widely accepted as truth anymore even inside the UFO believer community. Obviously some people still think they are real but the majority of responsible researchers (that I am aware of) either do not believe the papers are real or believe there is too much doubt to accept them as real.

I've studied them, myself, and I tend to think they are a hoax or at least a disinformation tactic.

Stanton Friedman who is in my opinion the most responsible UFO researcher due to his credentials(also happens to be a nuclear physicist) and research on the roswell case believes firmly after going through the National Archives several times that these papers are in fact real.

I've always been interested in the topic of UFO's. But there are so many different stories that its hard to believe they exist.

You are correct that Stan is well-credentialed but Stan also tends to be credulous. You will rarely hear Stanton Friedman expounding at length on some major piece of evidence that he believes is false.

There is no doubt in my mind that UFOs exist. I speak from personal experience.

There is also no doubt in my mind that there is life elsewhere in the universe.

There is doubt in my mind whether or not alien beings are related to earthly UFO sightings. To me, it's not a question of "are UFOs real", it's a question of "are UFOs earth technology or not".

I haven't seen any UFO's - well, at least none that were as wild as some of the stories I've heard. My wife claims to have seen one on our way back from upstate NY a few months ago(as I slept in the passenger seat). To me the Roswell case which has had 100's of witnesses, mostly military by now seals the deal for me as far as aliens go - The airforce has changed its story so many times now that theres no way I will ever believe what they say about it. All those abduction cases though, especially the Betty and Barney Hill and Travis Walton cases, are really hard to discredit.

I completely agree with that statement... there would have to be something going on to keep things in check, keep our asses covered...

Check out the Peter Jennings special on thursday the 24th about UFOs on ABC(8pm EST) - looks like they are siding with the UFO witnesses this time.

Next Thursday, Peter Jennings is going on Primetime (ABC) and doing a two hour special on UFO's. That should be good. We haven't gotten too much new info in recent years. Been the same stuff over and over on SciFi, Disc, TLC, etc... So hopefully they'll have two hours of new stuff.
