Rap loses most of it's appeal after you
become an age where you don't feel the desire to blast useless bass around town. I do like some of Eminem's songs though, partly because I hate my ex wife. The other reason would be that my current gf is 21. |

Anyone who rhymes "well" and "hell" is probably a shitty rapper...
but delivery is what makes rap good rap anyway... it's not a lot of "monkey" business -- it takes a lot of skill and knowledge... you need a very creative mind -- powers of free association -- flow -- rhythm -- conceptual coherency -- ambience -- and the best rappers have read a lot of books and have a lot of vocabulary and imagery at there disposal -- not to mention you need "style" and the ever elusive "flavor" *laugh*... but seriously most "white" guys can't rap because to rap well you need to be in the practice of bending sounds of words -- to form them to suit your needs -- good rappers practice inventive language -- and twisting of words in innovative ways. Most skilled rappers freestyle their best rhymes -- "off the dome" -- ie: sans the editing process that can kill the spirit of a good rhyme -- some guys can rhyme shit off the top of their head that would blow you away... One of my best friends is very talented -- and to see him get on stage -- and just give the band a few notes -- he could come up with a freestyle rhyme -- create a mood -- pull in the atmosphere of the club -- make connections in the rhyme to what he saw before him... That is not easy shit to do... not easy to do -- he could make a crowd silent -- he could make people cry -- girls would be all over this guy. Most of the shit you hear on the radio -- well I can agree it's crap. There is good rap out there though -- you have to find it. Here's a my mathematic rapper rhyme that I came up in a drunken frenzy on ICQ one night... It's meant to be funny. I have a demented sense of humor -- what can I say... The only tolerable rap to me is Old school rap. And I don't even really like that shit. But if I had to listen to rap and I had a choice, it would be shit like Ice-T, EZ etc..
