Do people actually know how to drive in the snow where you live?
Cause they sure as fuck don't around here :helpme
1st you got the people who absolutely fucking panic at the sight of one little snowflake -they shouldn't even leave they house let alone get into a car then you got the idiots in the big suv's who shouldn't even own one, they usually are the ones who end up in the ditch... whoopee look at how fast I can accellerate with all this power and traction .... whoopee look at how i can't fucking stop this thing since it weighs seven thousand pounds ... slide ... smash :winkwink: then when the road lines get covered you got the assholes who haven't got a clue where the road lines usually are and drive at you in the oncoming fucking lane :Oh crap I swear if another fucking pedestrian jay walks in front of me when I can hardly stop... I am not even going to bother to try and stop :321GFY |
nope and we get it every year..
|
i hear ya man.... people fucking suck at driving in vancouver..
when i was driving in the states... it felt so great when people would actually move into the slow lane and were aware of their surroundings... people here cant drive worth shit! |
We don't have that much snow around here. The bigger problem is the small layer of ice under the snow
|
they dont but we never get that much
|
we have those suvs going 60 here too, while everyone else is doing 25...
|
dont get much snow here, but people cant dive in the ice thats for sure.
|
I love the guys that have 4 wheel drive. Just think they can fly down the road at 90 mph. Do they not underatand that four wheel drive won't help you stop. Morons.

The natives of my state (Montana) usually know how to drive on our winter road conditions, but it's the out of staters who need to stop and think once in a while. Say...for instance there are 20 cars with Montana license plates going 45 mph on the interstate in a nice neat little row. And along comes a vehicle from say....Washington barreling past all the cars at 70 mph. 1 mile down the road, the said Washington state vehicle is on it's top in the barrow pit. I would think that a good clue should of been ALL the Montana vehicles were driving slow.
And yes, the SUV's, Dodge Ram's, etc, are also frequently seen in a crashed condition around here. For some reason people think weight and size equals being superman of the road and the rules of gravity and traction don't apply to them. And as long as they don't crash into me, or one of my loved ones then they can sure do whatever it is that they want on the road. **Disclaimer-I only used Washington state as an example. People from California crash and burn around here too. ;) |
We don't get snow. We get frozen ice once or twice a year, and everyone stays home for 3 days. Schools and businesses close.
|
no they definitely don't know how to drive in snow here.
they have a hard enough time driving in terrential rains here. most people say, hey! i'm in an suv so even though its raining like its the end of the world, i'm going to drive 90 miles an hour. i won't get into an accident! hahah yeah right. |
For the most part, yes.

It doesn't matter where you live, I lived in Philadelphia, PA, same shit (with and without snow). People don't know how to drive, period. I wonder if the states are just handing out licenses? |
People driving in snow doesn't worry me as much as people driving while on cell phones.
|
If you think that they are bad, try driving in Miami in the rain.
Imagine most of the drivers there did not get a license until their late 20's or early thirties. So they really have no experiance. Then add water, and the oil on the road, and it is the best derby car scene you have ever watched. |
Here's what I don't get:
People don't invest in a good pair of winter-only snow tires. Why would you not spend $500 on snow tires when getting in an accident is way more expensive. For how much snow we get, people, even "locals" drive like morons. Just because there's some snow on the road doesn't mean you have to drive 25mph!! And just because you have 4wd doesn't mean your car/truck/suv handles better in the snow! Buy some good tires & learn how to ice! |
In quebec most people do know how to drive in snow
the people that dont know how end up in the ditch |

AWD wrx is nice in the snow. However, morons on the road are scary.
|
fktup is right. The best car I ever had for driving in snow was a Toyota Corolla with front wheel drive and four studded snow tires. Better than the 4-wheel drive Isuzu Trooper I have now.
|
We don't get much snow here, and when we do it's a zoo on the road.
|
We don't have snow here in Brazil so I think people don't know how to drive in snow here.

and make it look like this www.dannyrichards.com/car.jpg |
The county won't hardly do shit for our roads when it comes ICE/snow storm, so we pretty much stay home
|
What is snow? :helpme
|
Ha this was a first
I saw a guy in a brand new Toyota Aramada or whatever they're called anyway his anti-lock or traction control was fucked up :error The rear wheel on the drivers side was frozen, he had that fucker in 4x4 mode revving the piss out of it, but with one wheel frozen on the read end, he was driving down the road sideways :1orglaugh he couldn't back up, he couldn't go forward :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh I never saw anything so funny :1orglaugh |
drivers here can't drive when the streets are clear, let alone when there is snow on them.

Like the DMV is supposed to be the last line to weed out the bad drivers, but all of Ryan's cronies worked in the DMV so if you didn't speak a lick on english, never learned to read, you were half blind, convicted with 20 DUI's in Michigan, no problem. :helpme |
Everyone is pretty decent in these parts. You always have the few idiots messing up, but they are usualy younger or elderly drivers.
|
Thats something that you have to get use to.

The wrx is nice... but I definitely feel the need for more :| Although, it handles great in the snow. I had absolutely no problem driving today... saw 2 suv's in the ditch on the barnet highway though. Suckers :) |

WOw, I was just thinking the exact same thing Doug said a few minutes ago, went to get some gas, we're getting 10-15cm here in montreal tonight, but people think since they have AWD no need to drive slow
|
I like my path infront of my car to be the same as that infront of my skis ... not groomed!
Eight out of the last nine weekends I've driving back and forth between Jasper and Banff (Rockies) - snow storms (white out), 100+km wind (no shit), sand storms (again, no shit), rain/black ice and at some points 2-8" of snow. I can drive just fine with my little Golf sporting Nokian rippers (H2) for sneakers. It is the rest of them that need a backhand! |
Most people where I live have never even seen snow. If it actually snowed here and accumulated, it would be mass hysteria. I'm almost positive I would kill myself or someone else if I had to drive in it.
|
i get by fine with my RSX....having a stick kinda sucks but i can ride higher gear which helps. as for others....they all drive like retards in michigan. worst roads in the country
|
I imagine if folks here did know how to drive in the snow they have now forgotten since we don't get much (well, none actually) snow in San Diego. :)
|
i lived up north a long time ago......and i dont think you would call it what they were doing as "driving"......more like wrecking. :1orglaugh
|
Hell no...we had our first snowfall here in Vancouver and it was a joke..what most people consider a dusting ,we consider a major snowfall judging by the accidents
