Larry King did a great interview today with leaders of various faiths re the issue of spirituality and disasters.

One thing is for certain, this disaster was an opportunity for everyone to reach the deep core of humanity within themselves and show compassion.

I'm sure that's true for some people but I'm sure there's many sincere people out there as well. I found that out when my car broke down in a thug part of Los Angeles, some gangbangers and some homeless people helped me push my car to the gas station. I thought I was gonna get jacked since I was wearing a suit and tie (just came from a late presentation). People are kinder than we give them credit for... regardless of what the media or stereotypes say.

It's up to you, your neighbor and loved ones to not let that happen. Let's not stop help the people in need, just because it's not on TV anymore.

Platinumpimp 01-08-2005 05:37 AM

Funny.

I knew some idiot would stand up and think "God" has anything to do with this tsunami. There's no God. The world is a fucking meat machine.

That really depends on your definition of god.

Scott McD 01-08-2005 06:12 AM

I watched one of these 'god' people on tv the other night.

He was asked if he still believed in god after the Tsunami because of all the death and destruction that had been caused.

His reply.......

"oh more than ever, why i heard of an amazing story in which a father managed to rescure his little girl, against all odds. God decided they still had a reason to be here, and spared them their lives"

So umm, did god just say "fuck them" to the other 150,000 odd thousand that weren't so lucky ??? :321GFY

This world is a strange place. History doesnt repeat it self and is not logical. I truly belive that the CAR was given from god. And he left a hidden message.... FORD - LORD

Think about it. Do you truly belive that we know everything already??

That there will not be anymore surprises?, I belive in god who is the true master. Who see the bigger picture, from a whole different angle.

:)

Anyone who believes in God and believes God sent the tsunami hasn't really read the Bible.:2 cents:

According to the bible, god sent the locusts. And the flood. Among other things. Why not a tsunami?

Meloncash 01-08-2005 07:18 AM

maxjohan hit it right on the head. God sees thing from a different angle. We fear death because we cannot see heaven. From the perspective of God, it is simply moving a soul from one side to the other.

I am convinced that something like this happened and it is where the Noah story came from.

sean416 01-08-2005 07:47 AM

I dont have the patience to sit there and read some babel about some invisible man in the sky causing all this shit. It's just ridiculous. wake the fuck up people.

Really interesting article (and unlike some people I'm not being saracstic), I really like reading about this stuff.

Femme Fa'tale 01-08-2005 08:04 AM

When bad things happen to us .....we blame God and do resist him...
When everything goes our way .... we do neglect him ...

jigg 01-08-2005 11:55 AM

interesting read indeed, and so far any regligious person i've picked up a debate with has eventually left me sitting and waiting for an answer. they don't even dare to utter the "I don't know" words anymore

hova 01-08-2005 11:57 AM

they always try to blame god

In the the end times (which many feel we are in) Satan is allowed his final rule and there will be famines and disasters of proportions never seen. Revelations is all about the death of the Earth (it will happen eventually anyway since all stars die and our sun is one). After the flood God said (Genesis 9:11) that it was a one time event but that doesn't stop Satan from using floods during his reign to make people doubters. Believers shouldn't fear as their time on Earth is but a blink of the eye and death of the flesh is birth of the eternal life.

Tsunami from Satan:upsidedow

Theo 01-08-2005 11:59 AM

tsunami was caused by the earthquake and the earthquake was probably a result of the large number of nuclear testings they took place the last 50 years. From the year nuclear bombing tests started the # of world earthquakes rapidly increased.
