Let's see. First and foremost MS is fucking arrogant! How can you be so arrogant when your products are so full of bugs?!? Ever used FrontPage? It produces more improper HTML than a 4th grade "Introduction to the web" class. And guess what.....the only browser that will render FPs "code" correctly is MSIE. Netscape shows it how it SHOULD be. Try to make a fairly complex page in FP then view it in MSIE then in Netscape. See some differences? I'll bet you do. Now open that document in a real HTML editor like Dreamweaver. Look at all the errors it finds. Even better, try to validate a MSFP created document with a 3rd party validator (like W3). Talk about errors!

Now, lets talk about security. Who makes that shitty email client that the entire world runs? That would be Micro$oft, right (speaking of Outlook and Outlook Express). Gotta watch those attachments, huh? Microsoft is to blame for most of the security problems on the net today. With good 'ol Linux, those goofy attachments don't scare me at all. How many viruses have I gotten on my Linux boxes? NONE! 'Nuff said about that!

I'm not even going to bring up their IIS (Internet Information Server). It's just a poor excuse for a server all around.

Linux is your friend.....don't fight it!

linux is cool, but can never be a susbtitute for windows, especially win2k...

i can leave win2k on for 10 days without rebooting and it doesnt even crash. and guess what? i cant do the same thing with linux.

win2k is so much more comfortable, user friendly and powerfull. it is ideal for a PC user. on the other hand, *nix is definitely the best OS for web servers.

i like developing programs on *nix. it is less destracting (because my icq, aim, outlook express and browser are not open at the same time http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif) . it is definitely a programmers choice, but i just love using win2k as my PC OS.

microsoft has done a lot so far, they do their business incredibly well and became a world standard. that is the reason why most people hate them, and hate Bill Gates. He looks stupid, especially his CEO Paul Ballmer is the biggest moron on earth. But they do their job at the best level, and i respect that they would do anything to stay as a world standard and continue their success.

if someone has the balls to produce better products, people will not hesitate to use them. its how microsoft started in this business anyways. they did something that other couldnt do.

having some respect would be a more mature behaviour than crying and whining..

It wouldn't be hacking if you are given a password. All you'd need to do is open up is network with explorer (add network) and put that info in place and you'd gain access.

So I do suggest you change your password because someone will do stupid shit.

The only thing that I would thank M$ for are their products that motivate tens of thousands of opensource programmers to progressivly improve their programs.

Anyone who's done serious work (ie, enterprise level stuff) with a web based interface knows what pieces of shit most Netscape products are. The team at my last real job was doing applications to train the Chrysler sales forces, and one of the requirements was that it run on NS 4.7 (or 4.6, can't remember which).. You would not BELIEVE how many NS bugs that team found. They pulled out their hair trying to make that software (which worked perfectly on IE4/5 of course) work on Netscape platforms. They ended up doing seperate versions for each browser. Hopefully NS dissapears soon, and I applaud Microsoft for blowing off NS users.

As for your complaints about Frontpage.. Uh, so what? Microsoft made a shitty product? In fact, they didn't even make it, they bought it. Frontpage was an acquisition, and I assume they're just building on the old code base still. FP generates crap, but so what? Who uses it?

Most MS bashing is just ignorant band-wagon bullshit. I'm sure Linus Torvalds doesn't hate Microsoft, it's only the little people that do. Linus just didn't like their OS, so he made his own.

Actually, I'm an MCSE and have been for a few years. I think I know a superior OS when I see one. I will say that Linux is NOT for amateur users. If you're looking for ease of operation, stick with MS. If you want power and security, *nix is for you. The average end user IS better off with Windows. Advanced users will be more productive and happier with Linux.

Because so many people use outlook express, they are going to be targetted as the best way to spread viruses. Since so many people are DUMB enough to open attachments, this also makes it the microsoft program an easy target. From your post it looks like you are just pissed because of a few shitty pieces of software microsoft has made which you had problems using. You don't have to worry about viruses anymore on your linux box? WOW, so you actually worried about them before while running windows? What are you, DUMB enough to download email attachments? Until you make a product that is used by 95 million people you can't blame the company who made the product for some bugs it has. If that many people used linux, people still using Mac 0s would be laughing at all the bugs in linux and their software.

Wanna guess why I am not affected? *.nix IS the most used web server OS in the world and there aren't many (if any) serious viruses that affect *nix servers. They all affect MS SERVERS....NOT the #1 web server OS in the world!
