Anyone stay at either of these hotels in Chicago?
 

Looking at The Palmer House Hilton or the Chicago Hilton. Trying to find something decent priced and down around museums and parks and stuff. Anyone have anything to say about these?

My wife stayed that the Knickenbacher or something like that. It was like 130$ or so, and right there in the middle of everything.

I looked at that one also. It is around the same price and is a 4 star compared to the Hiltons being 3.5 stars. Thing that turned me off on that one seemed to be the distance to some of the attractions. How did your wife like it? I will be there with my family and girlfiend for 4 nights.

The Palmer house is ok but the rooms are old. You actually feel like you are sleeping in the same bed as 1000's of people over he past 100 years when you stay in those rooms. Same for the Knickerbocker.

Stay at the Wyndham. It's downtown and very central. Beds are new and very comfortable. It's 4 stars and on www.hoteldiscounts.com it's only $108 a night.

Or you can stay at Hotel 71 which is directly in the center of downtown. It's all new and very nice and only $120 on the same site.

If those don't work for you, The Embassy Suites Lakefront is also local and nice. It's $125 per night on the same site.

Enjoy yourself in Chicago and don't forget to stop and grab a deep dish pizza at Pizzaria Uno's or Pizzaria Duo's downtown. It's nothing like the chain and may cause you to not eat pizza for a year when you go back home because you won't look at pizza the same way ever again! The stuff is that good!
