framboise tastes like the sweetest rasberry soda pop you could ever possibly imagine. mix it with guinness and it tastes like chocolate rasberries.

framboise is a lambic. or a beer with a secondary fermentation process using fruit.

nofx 01-05-2005 06:34 PM

liquidmoe 01-05-2005 07:10 PM

LOL, thats so crazy, I didnt know other people drank Lambic, we've been drinking it here at the office every so often, usually on those late nights couped up for long hours. Got this great grocery store open 24/7 just down the block, buy two bottles, get a complimentary cup, we're amassing quite the collection.

Definitely gotta try it with Guiness though, should be an interesting mix. :thumbsup

pornguy 01-05-2005 07:12 PM

Easy dude. you will end up on the floor or in the bathroom at that pace.

Spunky 01-05-2005 07:15 PM

I got a 6 pack of the widget draft and it was the most flat putrid stuff I had ever tasted. I thought I was going to hurl with each sip. Gave the rest of it to my brother-in-law who will drink anything.:upsidedow

since i'm in the states, the availble beer selection at hand is unfortunately limited. i'm a big fan of stouts of porters mostly, but also appreciate good ales.

i had an exchange student from austria a few years back who brought over several large bottle of belgium beer with the very strange stoppers on top. i loved them. if you have any reccomendations i would love to hear them. i'm always down for trying new beers.

CamMaster 01-06-2005 05:27 AM

I don't like it too much. Probably I just have to grow up :P

Twe Russ 01-06-2005 05:30 AM

Looks and sounds very delicious, it has a fruity touch to it as i can tell by the bottle.

Half Cup Framboise Lambic -
& Half Cup Guinness Dark -

Correct?

nope 3 mort subite (sudden death) is nice, but im sure you can get chimay there its pretty common, there are different versions, http://www.chimay.be/ the blue one is nice, its trappisten made by monks, one of the last ones available

lachouffe is a fun beer, not sure if they export it, its easy to recognize by the lepricorn (how do you spell that lol), its in small and big bottles, really really gets you http://www.achouffe.be/ its not dark but still sweet

if youre really into sweet this is nice, im sure its exported called kasteelbier (castlebeer) i drink it lots very sweet very heavy (10+%) http://www.kasteelbier.be/ the same brewery makes st louis a cherry beer as well

im sure you know but the trappisten ones have yeast on the bottles, they are an instant headache if you drink that, its the oldest way to make beer takes long but gets the best beer imho

DutchTeenCash 01-06-2005 05:55 AM

http://users.pandora.be/hopsite/belg...ouwerijen.html

if you want to see some, if you speak french itll help, most have english pages as well, there are like 600 big breweries in Belgium, so this is just a small selection

Twe Russ 01-06-2005 06:13 AM

Cant wait to try it out, sounds fuckin tasty as hell.
