I'm done with Microsoft JUNK

This will be my last post using a microsoft product. I've been a supporter since windows 3.1, and I wish it didnt take this long, but I've been simply putting it off.

I'm off to shop for a MAC, and Im not coming home without one. I'm sick of my PC freezing, sick of the slowness and lack of proper functionality since SP2, not to mentioned all the exploits. Using FireFox has been great but thats just one problem avoided.

See you all in a few hours on my new MAC!

Microsoft UNPLUGGED!

TheMob 01-04-2005 02:20 PM

in a few weeks you'll look back at this day and say to yourself that this was the best decision you've ever made.

i love my mac.

xclusive 01-04-2005 02:22 PM

Good luck i love my pc

wes 01-04-2005 02:23 PM

TheMob 01-04-2005 02:24 PM

have you ever tried a mac?

JSA Matt 01-04-2005 02:26 PM

It takes an IQ of 90 or more to operate Windows properly, go for the Mac dude!

That statement is like saying

I love my wife, i know she's become fat and dumpy and I know i could have this sexy, slick and amazing new woman. She's even compatible with my stuff and makes life so much better, but i just love my wife.

What a way to live.

the analogy has some flaws, I know. but you get the point.

:1orglaugh you will be back in due time. Im runnin XP with SP1 and have yet to see all these crashes peole talk of, oh well

JizBiz 01-04-2005 02:46 PM

I have no problems with SP2. NONE

If your experiencing a lag or freezing you probably need to format, do a clean install, and then BEFOR installing your programs back on it...update the SP2.

I experienced no problems with the new Service Pack

Haven't rebooted since I installed SP2

blazi 01-04-2005 02:47 PM

will take some getting use to a Mac, hope it works well for ya!

Furious_Male 01-04-2005 02:49 PM

I have never had a problem with a PC. I have 12 between my 2 offices and over the past 9 years I have only had to reformat once and that was on a lap top that I abused and over-heated.

Keep your machines up to date and know at least the basics and you shouldn't have any problems. I am typing this now on a machine I slapped together in 01. Its still running windows ME. :)

riddler 01-04-2005 02:53 PM

I have really never seen what people bitch about windows, Only time I had problem with microsoft stuff was when i was like 10 years old and didnt know much ;)

Its all about keeping stuff optimized and tweaked and make sure other apps dont write code to vital files in windows, Thats why you should always use a limited user account when doing stuff.

pxxx 01-04-2005 02:55 PM

I love my pc as well. Been through rough and good times with me.

TheMob 01-04-2005 02:57 PM

yeah, it's probably possible to keep a pc working if you spend all day updating and fixing anti virus apps.

but i prefer spendind my time in front of my computer working

TheMob 01-04-2005 02:57 PM

and that's why I own a mac

HorseShit 01-04-2005 02:59 PM

I don't know if you realize this but, WINDOWS ISN'T THE ONLY OPERATING SYSTEM FOR THE PC.

Paco, of Large Cash. 01-04-2005 03:05 PM

You will love your new Mac system ... maybe not the price of software but that's peanuts compared to what you will gain ... stability & speed.

I know your going to like them Apples!

Of course I am using 98SE and have not been through the grinder as most XP users, so I will stick with what works. If I had to acquire a new OS, I also would be saying 'hello Apple'.

NaughtyRob 01-04-2005 03:15 PM

I am heading in that direction as well.

oberheimer 01-04-2005 03:37 PM

I have a Imac and i love it. I bought it a few months ago and it's the best thing i have done. My pc was'nt working at all, always some problem with virus and trojans. What mac are you going to buy. I would recommend an Imac with 20" monitor or if you have more money a G5 powermac

Rorschach 01-04-2005 03:52 PM

Even if MS could fix the spyware/ security issues, winblows is still a usability nightmare, it's ugly, legacy apps are a pain, it's cluttered, slow, bloated... there are other (unix based) OSs that are just a lot more pleasant to use, especially if you're a power user and/or you use a computer all day every day. The only people who claim to love windows are those who don't know anything better.

ztik 01-04-2005 03:55 PM

It takes some computer knowledge to run a computer...
As long as you know what you are doing you never run into many problems.

What kind of sick twisted analogy is this, dude? I really feel for your wife, old or new..

jukeboxfrank 01-04-2005 05:40 PM

you get what you pay for. Including windows. It runs better with Intel Pen's.
