I have a mini ipod, so far so good, although i'm going to buy a protective case for it as it will probably be easy to break/damage.

I have a 15GB iPod, half full at the moment. I do alot of traveling to work and use it all the time. It does what it says on the box and it does it well. I got a friend to buy mine from the states cos its alot cheaper than buying it from UK stores. I think I paid $320

Go on......... buy one you know you want to :winkwink:

I was under the impression that the mini-ipod used solid state memory and didn't have any moving parts...

i have a pink mini ipod and it rocks. i use it in the early morning when i workout while tony is still asleep. that way i can listen to my tunes as loud as i want and i won't wake him or shorty up.
i got my mini ipod for an anniversary gift, so the price was wayyy worth it. :)

iPods are a very good device, but do not perform so well for an active outdoors person such as me -- condensation is a problem, as is minus 25 degrees Celsius. They do look nice and are trendy.
(A few friends have the Minipod and love it, but leave it at home when we go skiing, forcing them to bust out the $39.00 MP3/CD player.)

Me, well I simply whip out the Sony Hi-MD ... zero issues!
Replacement 1GB Hi-MD for a mere $12 CND.
(I slept in a tent on New Years Eve; it was minus 32degrees Celsius not including the wind-chill and the little beast kept pounding away.)

IMHO, most if not all all-in-ones (or mops) are not a good idea-- first off ... how much memory? (32, 64, 96, 128 ... LOL) Anything without an expansion slot and under 512MB is a waste of time to me - I need at the very least 8-hours of tunes.
What happens when the phone needs to be serviced or the battery gets low. No more phone and tunes, that's what.

dont buy it, just not now.... they have this color screen ipod and it doesnt play digital movies... they pop a small upgrade on every version.... just when you have this ipod photo after a few month they'll release another version....

i think in a few years ipod will be bluetooth enabled...and could play any media....

for now just get the best phone....

candyflip 01-04-2005 10:20 AM

I have one, but my cousin got an iRiver for Christmas. That little unit kicks ass. Plays MP3 and video files as well.

Might do a trade in.

DesignWise 01-04-2005 10:21 AM

I have this 1st version of 5gig ipod and now its wheel control is no use... back button is dead, no more lcd backlight... i cannot listen to music with it... but i do use is as a 5gig portable storage media... the sad thing is... it only have firewire no usb...

fuck!

felipeav 01-04-2005 10:32 AM

I have an iPod mini and a iPod photo. Maybe I'm a iPod maniac.

Veterans Day 01-04-2005 10:37 AM

Ipod? :1orglaugh go here www.iriver.com get the PMP-120 plays music, movies, photos, records voice and has all your local radio stations, blows that ipod crap away.

Babaganoosh 01-04-2005 10:58 AM

iRiver is infinitely better than iPod. iPods are a trend, nothing more. Don't forget who makes them (HP for those of you who don't know). Don't fall for the trendy bullshit.

TheMob 01-04-2005 11:58 AM

yeah, they're very worth it www.ipodmini.com
