I include the psd as well as a sliced version and usually a version in html...for EVERY client. No matter what. I thought that was just common sense to include the psd files but I guess I learn something new every day.

That sucks, we prefer to include the PSD in delivery.

it is good to provide the psd, after all service is paid including the psd...
i cant see any reason why any designer should not give the psd... |

I prefer to be the one to make changes to the work that I did. So I always try to hold onto PSDs for this purpose. In most cases, you should be able to charge for any extra work you might do. If someone really wants the PSDs, they're charged accordingly. The problem here is that every designer and their brother has gone to designing paysite tours for $200 AND giving the clients the sun and the moon and the PSDs. Plenty of money in the pocket of your porn design hack. |
If the .jpg isn't compressed (it's at 100%) ANY designer should be able to copy it into Photoshop and slice it up and optimize it as you need it :2 cents:

Yeah, there are ways around it...but won't look as good as if the changes were made in the Photoshop file. |

I personally give the .psd but keep a backup in case they fuck it up and want more work done...
|
on this case..
http://www.mr2creationz.com/mr2temp/nayr/hifi_02.jpg even if you have uncompressed jpg... it is still useless without the psd... specially when youre the type of client who lacks editing skills... |

You have everything there to make the site. Any decent designer can open that .JPG in Photoshop/ImageReady and slice it up to turn into a website. I'm not sure if you we're planning into turning the top part into a Flash file, but that might be your only problem. |
yes any decent designer can work on that... poor client... now he need to hire another designer....
|
Sucks :eek7

Slice that up and tile the appropriate parts and go from there Sucks to hear you got burned . Sounds to me from what you posted this was just the preview image and the work never got done . |
