anyone here good with DNS?

I just changed the DNS settings on one of my sites.. however, when i go to it, it brings me to the page from the old host, but the whois info shows dns settings for the new host

its not a browser issue, i asked a few people to go to the domain, and it brings them to the old host too

did DNS settings stop getting updated automatically?

post the link.. sometimes dns servers around the world don't reflect the most recent changes. it can take a few minutes, or even hours.

DNS has cache - DNS needs to propagate and your ISP's cache needs to clear.

People usually say 24 - 72 hours max.

Also, not worthy, if you're good with figuring out syntax's for unix commands - start messing around with dig.

that 24-72 hour wait is done with now

dns settings update instantly, and ive changed dns settings on domains in the past, and they've updated instantly

i wish this one would work :(

Are you managing your own server???

servermatrix.com's forums :)

Try re-updating your dns settings. Sometimes the propagation process goes into the deep freeze. Wait 24 - 72 hrs. Then you can start kicking stuff, if it still doesn't work.
