Should and should not. Guess i am confused just like you.

really depends on what you do with your system. i do a lot of video editing and it changed a lot of shit on mine so i reverted to previously working SP1.

so basically, try it... if you dont like it, revert back to SP1.

andrej_NDC 01-03-2005 06:47 PM

no, Microsoft is like a bad car service station, they repair something and fuck up something else at the same time. :)

That about sums it up.

I have it installed and haven't been nailed with anything since, and it didn't f' anything up. So for me, it was well worth it.

blazi 01-03-2005 06:53 PM

I installed the SP2 and have had no problems...

sumphatpimp 01-03-2005 07:01 PM

problems with XP?

go here

OzMan 01-03-2005 07:09 PM

do it and then download this and if it still fucks up just roll back

ztik 01-03-2005 07:12 PM

Don't do it if you havn't formated recently. Its best to format first before you install it. I got it running my 3 machines. Only 1 of them worked after the initial install. The other 2 had to be formated.

Thanks :( You just reminded me of the time I took my truck in for an oil change...Can't get much simpler than that right? What could possibly go wrong??

Well unknown to me the dumb fuck drains the transmission fluid by mistake. Then drains the oil and refills it and sends me on my way with zero transmission fluid.

I brought it back in and the Manager starts bullshitting me saying, "it must have been an air bubble" :disgust

xclusive 01-03-2005 07:14 PM

just make sure you backup first

bdld 01-03-2005 07:37 PM

go for it, i havent had a single problem with it. system runs much better.

jukeboxfrank 01-03-2005 07:43 PM

Do it ....I love the sp2 made a big difference

TheSpaceBulldog 01-03-2005 08:05 PM

As long as it wasn't downloaded via the windows update tool...
You're much better off purchasing the sp2 disk...!!!

Spunky 01-03-2005 08:10 PM

I haven't had any problems...be sure to check the compatibility list before you try it

TurboTrucker 01-03-2005 08:12 PM

I didn't install it and I haven't had 1 problem.

evildick 01-03-2005 08:13 PM

I finally gave in and installed it and haven't had any troubles.

boner 2.0 01-03-2005 08:43 PM

I have installed since the first day it came out (non beta of course). Never had problems. They only annoying shit is that auto-update crap in right corner... :upsidedow

Mack 01-03-2005 09:57 PM

Depends on what you use your system for. It will clear up most pop up issues if you surf . No problems on any machine I have installed it on.

r3ap3r 01-03-2005 11:44 PM

Recently installed it. I haven't had any problems with SP2 yet.

doesn't matter, it has a little more security features, and theres tons of updates after you upgrade to sp2. Be sure to backup before doing it though.
