Do you work at home or an office?

This is specifically for people who work for themselves.

I work from home, but I'm wondering how much of a benefit (or not) it is to seperate your work from your home. I assume most everyone prefers to work at an office.

Much more productive to work from the office.

sickkittens 01-03-2005 12:12 PM

I have a home office. When I'm in Sao Paulo I work from my office there.

Loadie 01-03-2005 12:53 PM

Both.. I get more work done at home actually though, those late nights I have nothing to do I'll sit back and program.

KRL 01-03-2005 12:55 PM

Usually the mornings I work at my home office and then go to our corporate offices anywhere from 10 to 1.

That way you get the best of both worlds. I like having peace and quiet in the morning and no one bothering me.

No place like home :winkwink: !!...

i work from home

MetaMan 01-03-2005 01:02 PM

i have worked at home for over a year now, sometimes i regret it but other time i dont,

as in sometimes ill wake up and not feel motivation because i know i am just a walk away from work. and during the days when i have less work to do it becomes boring as the majority of people are at work.

but i of course cannot complain working from home, setting your own hours, eating, leaving, showering anytime you want in the day is a thing of beauty.

We've considered an office several times but working from home has too many benefits for us at the moment. That may change though in the near future.

I'm an at home employee now... trying to get it rolling well enough to be manageable for when the baby arrives in the summer.

Stallion 01-03-2005 01:05 PM

I work out of my home office..

BlackCrayon 01-03-2005 01:08 PM

i prefer to work from home, no commute and if i feel like working at 4am when im in my boxers, i just stroll on into the home office.

Serge Litehead 01-03-2005 01:08 PM

For a few years I used to work out of my bedroom and loved it. Sometimes I would do 15-18 hours a day, other times 4-5 hours and spend rest of the day with friends. Recently I work from another home office. I stay there Mon-Fri doing 10-11am till about 3-4am, whatch some dvds after and hit the pillow; weekends I spend with my family.
Can't imagine myself working out of corp office from 9 to 5 like I used to do 6 years ago.

I Like Chocolate 01-03-2005 01:16 PM

TheMob 01-03-2005 01:20 PM

tigerallenyim 01-03-2005 01:25 PM

Well if u count working in your living room a home office... ok. But i just turned my spare room into an office. I'd like to work at home more often, I can get more done. Besides, i am planning to get a pool table to place in my dining room. This will save me $$$ and time from going to and from work to the billiard hall. :thumbsup
