what does it cost to ship a $50 000 car from the USA to EUROPE

50 000 dollars is only 37 000 euros, so a $50K car becomes VERY cheap for me :)

anyone know something about the shipping costs and possible import taxes ? ?

any help appreciated

pornstar2pac 01-03-2005 10:00 AM

it will cost you $4,957 Canadian dollars to ship it from Euro to the good ol' USA

xclusive 01-03-2005 10:02 AM

Not sure but here is a helpful link for you http://www.movecars.com/

BV 01-03-2005 10:03 AM

I dunno but I'd love to have my ZO6 over there on the German Autobahn, that would be a sweet expeience.

Platinumpimp 01-03-2005 10:06 AM

Around $3-5k usually. :pimp

andrej_NDC 01-03-2005 11:45 AM

BMWs are fucking cheap in US now, 50% cheaper than here, Im sure even more cheap than in NL

DarkJedi 01-03-2005 11:51 AM

You would need to pay crazy import taxes on it.

shima 01-03-2005 11:56 AM

I've heard about $1500.
But I don't have a link for that.

I just looked at that site and if you go to http://www.movecars.com/toc/find/index.htm you can find 10 company's (near the bottom of the page) who will ship cars overseas.

Now I don't have a clue about which one of those is good/bad ..

TheMob 01-03-2005 12:17 PM

I have no idea. But with the dollar being so low, I see a business there.

ricks 01-03-2005 12:20 PM

you are looking at like 40% import taxes on the value that they assess it, no point importing

shima 01-03-2005 12:22 PM

No, you are looking at paying VAT, which is anywhere between 16 and 25 percent in EU.

cayne 01-03-2005 12:24 PM

yeah, I'm thinking about this possibility too. Esp. the new Mustag GT would be very cheap here. But read a test about the GT and it's still a cheap car...

I'm looking to buy a SL 500...should be cheaper too. Does anybody selling a SL 500? :)

Twe Russ 01-03-2005 12:29 PM

I actually found a frieght company a while ago that was going to ship a car from Italy
at around $800-900. If you dont find a good mover, let me know I will try to find the
company I was dealing with.

cayne 01-03-2005 12:35 PM

I'm also searching a big car portal....searched google with "buy cars", which pulled out only shitty links.

I would actually agree, with things like this you dont want that special
discount.

boner 2.0 01-04-2005 12:45 AM

Jakke PNG 01-04-2005 03:25 AM

Dunno, it'd cost like $150k to import it to finland. Yay, for finnish import restrictions.

No.
Cause you would need to register the car in order to drive it. And to register it, you need the import docs.

You can import it as spare parts - taxes should be cheaper, but you would need to take the motor out and dismantle some other stuff.

Raf1 01-04-2005 05:35 AM

import taxes suck. If you don't find a way of getting around them, the car will cost a lot
