Computer Guys - Need Advice
My desktop has given up the ghost, so I'm putting together a replacement. My view on making this unit is #1 stability and performace.
I'm not interested in flashy things or cool cases, rather solid, proven hardware that won't fuck up. I also will be purchasing Intel, so I am not looking for an Intel/AMD debate :P So far I have chosen: Cooler Master Centurion 2 Silver ATX Mid-Tower Case with Front USB, Firewire and Audio Ports Ultra / X-Connect / 500-Watt / ATX / Dual 80mm Fan / Titanium-Blue / Modular Power Supply Intel D925XCVLK Socket 775 ATX Motherboard and Intel Pentium 4 530 3.0Ghz Processor KINGSTON HYPERX 1024MB DUAL CHANNEL KIT PC2700 2X512MB DDR 333MHZ 184PIN Western Digital / Raptor / 74GB / 10K / 8MB / SATA-150 / Hard Drive Anyone with any opinions on this gear? I can't see much difference between getting S775 and S478. As well, I'll be re-installing all my software - Adobe Suite, Windows, etc. Are there any issues with re-activating this stuff? Can I just call and explain my last PC died? Thanks Duse |

If my significant other didn't have my digital camera right now, I would take a picture of that unit - fully functional in the same room as I am right now.
I play jumpman, Lode runner, and pooyan every now and then. |

Sounds like a pretty nice rig.. May wanna do a little case modding to the rear exaust fan area on that case to increase your air-flow though.
:2 cents: Good luck with it. |
I would recomend the Intel 2,8 Ghz processor...it's performing much better than the 3,0 and I you ask me then get Maxtor hard drives.
