Do you cut your own grass?

I dont own a house yet but when I do I cant see myself wasting 2-3 hours cutting the lawn and raking it up in the hot sun. how many of you pay to have your grass cut and how much does it cost?

ztik 01-02-2005 10:50 PM

My gf does it :thumbsup

r3ap3r 01-02-2005 10:50 PM

I let the lawn gnomes handle it.

eroswebmaster 01-02-2005 10:51 PM

I live in Vegas...I rake my own dirt.

Spunky 01-02-2005 10:51 PM

It gives me exercise

Magg 01-02-2005 10:53 PM

You dont have to rake up left over grass... Ive never had it cause a problem before..

KRL 01-02-2005 10:53 PM

It's fun if you buy one of these. We had 2 acres growing up and I used to cut our grass. Rolled it down hill though one year and almost got my foot cut off and decided it was more fun to kick back at the pool and watch the landscapers do it.

PersianKitty 01-02-2005 10:58 PM

I've had a landscaper since I moved to my home in 1997.

laura99 01-02-2005 11:12 PM

I cut my own grass but I have a small yard, I can be done in a half hour. I have a mulching mower so you don't have to rake, chops it up into small pieces.

Illicit 01-02-2005 11:13 PM

I do it myself... it good to get outside once in a while and breathe the fresh air...

SomeCreep 01-02-2005 11:17 PM

I dont have time for that. My gardener does a good job.

Thechad 01-02-2005 11:18 PM

I just ignore it. It will go away! That does remind me I can't find my BBQ anymore

That is one reason I do like it here in Northeast Texas I have cut the grass once in 6 months. It's a little long but not what you think, and yes the neighbors hate me. I think I do it just to piss the rednecks off

Sosa 01-02-2005 11:19 PM

I actually enjoy mowing. Did it for 5 years while I was in junior high / high school to make some extra money. I will do it when I have my own house here in a little while.

kmanrox 01-02-2005 11:54 PM

I don't have grass. I live in a skyscraper

B-Eazy 01-03-2005 12:00 AM

Cutting grass can be fun. Make it look sweet and be proud of yourself.

darksoft 01-03-2005 12:05 AM

I use a push mulching mower and it takes 2-3 hours to do it.

junction 01-03-2005 12:49 AM

Just get a goat.

Hot Visions 01-03-2005 12:50 AM

emthree 01-03-2005 01:06 AM

SykkBoy 01-03-2005 02:53 AM

I mow my own (when I feel like it)
I'm not some lazy shlub who needs someone else to do it for me...

Stamen 01-03-2005 04:10 AM

I have desert landscaping, but I lived in southern Illinois for about a year and I used to have to cut that grass, what a pain in the ass that was, my backyard was gigantic and hilly, not to mention that there were bumblebees that lived out there who got pissed off when you mowed near them.

flashfire 01-03-2005 04:13 AM

I hire some punk kids to do it...they also mow the dog poo (I get 2 birds stoned)

sean416 01-03-2005 04:15 AM

I cut my own grass at my parents house when I lived there.. but thats the beauty of living in a condo.. no grass to cut!!

erehwon 01-03-2005 07:09 AM

I have mexicans do it.

xclusive 01-03-2005 07:14 AM

I will be having somebody come do the work when I move to kentucky just way too much work

Herb Kornfield 01-03-2005 07:23 AM

Of course...

I got all the power yard gear ( mower, weed trimmers and hedge clippers), manual rakes, hoes, shovels and a mountain of other tools for gardening, planting and tending to my 3 yards. ( front, back and side of the house)

I was just pondering what seed to use this year to really make the lawn take off more than it has in the past ( shady 25% of the day and also, there is alot of traffic in certain areas)

Last year I got a Honda Mini Tiller that can rip the ground to 18 inches down for turning over the soil. Honda Tillers are a fucking blast to use....

Fire one up and enjoy the mowing :)

LeeNoga 01-03-2005 07:24 AM

Nope, to lazy, I hire it out.

slapass 01-03-2005 07:40 AM

I used to do it but I just hired it done or they will once the snow is gone. $20 a shot and it took me 20-30 minutes so about the time they unload the stuff they are reloading the stuff.

quiet 01-03-2005 07:41 AM

i'm not much for manual labor. everything i own is ultra-low maintenance :)

DEA - banned for life 01-03-2005 07:42 AM

grown, cut and smoked all by myself

demented 01-03-2005 07:46 AM

I live in a condo. No grass.. Although we do have a bunch of mexicans come around once a week that takes care of the landscaping outside our building.

Yup. I cut my own grass and pooper scoop my own dogs shit off it. Like that Seinfeld skit, I figure if there's aliens looking down at me and are thinking abduction, they'll take my dog instead of me.

Vitasoy 01-03-2005 08:36 AM

Yep but I usually wait till it's pretty damn long.

dennisthemenace 01-03-2005 08:41 AM

I cut ours.. no raking though, mulching mower.

Got just over an acre on a hill and do it with a pushmower - if it wasn't for cutting the grass I wouldn't get any exercise of fresh air at all.

Sarah_Jayne 01-03-2005 09:02 AM

no but that could be something to do with the fact that I don't have a yard

Johny Traffic 01-03-2005 09:04 AM

get a goat its much easier

Get a mower with a bag, very easy job. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

CS-Jay 01-03-2005 10:51 AM

Not only do I mow my yard, but I mow my Mother's too. I'm kinda like a handyman and shit. I take great pride in my yard. But in the summer time here in South Florida, that shit gets old fast. Mowing just about every weekend. But hey, it gets rid of the hang-overs pretty fast.

Paco, of Large Cash. 01-03-2005 11:00 AM

Hell no! However, I do smoke my own grass.

BIGTYMER 01-03-2005 11:03 AM

I dont even have grass... Just some decorative rocks.

TheMob 01-03-2005 01:56 PM

no, i don't have any

crockett 01-03-2005 02:01 PM

The first business I ever started was a lawn service at 15.. Ran it for 10 years and I'm never going to mow another yard.. :1orglaugh

Hire a lawn guy it's much eaiser..If you need exercise go for a walk..
