What do you get out of working with Adult?

I seriously think about leaving COMPUTERS forever. There is absolutly no good in working in the biz or on the Internet by yourself. All you get is no social life and a messed up mind... scripts, tgps and all that mess of getting traffic and promiting the 22,000,000 built TGP on the planet. Stress...

I finally realised that this isnt for me and was never ment to be. I want to have a clear mind, a simple mind. I've been trolling this place and biz for such a long time and it really feels like a waste(I take the marketing tactics with me), now when I see the big picture. Without fear I can leave the Internet without thinking that I will miss something tomorrow.

Its time to look forward and archive something with people around me.

Happiness is tomorrow and not breathing and thinking about all the small things in life. Try to stop looking back for 10 minutes and forward instead. Can you do it?

.. So what have you got out of working with adult more than money?

Right now it feels rather pathetic to soround my life life again with Names like TGP's and MGP's and trolling in threads like "How much the Thumbzilla sell for?"

Im not that curious any more.

Stuff like that makes ya want to quit even more eh? Take a break man. Get out to the country for a week or two and just drive. Go until you run out of gas and then sleep wherever you can find a place. Hit a couple run down honkey tonk bars and get in a good scramble. Have an adventure. It'll cure what ails ya. :)

no but you what job are you thinking of where you are working with your wife or kids? at least in this biz you can take time off when needed to look after your personal life, not chained to a cubical. and like others said, i can sit in my boxers and make more money than ppl who have to commute one hour to work and having to follow conduct, dress code, ect rules.

if you feel its not for you, good luck on whatever your next venture is.

suicide will end your stress

Babagirls 01-02-2005 03:44 PM

i do both mainstream and adult, i just like building sites in general. doesnt matter what kind. i've always loved the internet and been "addicted" to it since i was like 14 yrs old. This is the job for me, but not the job for everyone, thats for sure!

i love working from home, taking vacations whenever i want, and just the complete freedom of having no boss to tell me what to do.

I'm outsourcing more and more... Will be gone in a year or so.. As soon as I get my income steady and outsourced -> off goes the computer.

TheMob 01-02-2005 03:57 PM

wow, maybe you just need a vacation

Dcat 01-02-2005 03:58 PM

Interesting. I felt exactly the same way, and actually left the adult biz for about three years. Now I'm back. While I was away, I did many other things, but I also did a LOT of reading during that time. I read everything I could get my hands on that related to business, and what it takes to really excel in it. I came to learn that I had made the HUGE mistake of working "IN" my business instead of "ON" my business. There's BIG difference! I was having no fun, working like a freak'n slave, and was always feeling like I was getting nowhere. I burnt myself right out. Now, all that has changed! I have never been more juiced about going to work everyday, and being a part of this industry. There is so much opportunity!

My prescription:

Take a long break, grab a copy of "The E-Myth Revisited" read it, and I promise you, if you get (and apply) the E-Myth message, everything will take care of itself. You will no longer be a slave to your business, your "systems" will take care of all that. You will be free to innovate, create, and dream about where you want to take your business, and what you want it to be. More free time, less stress, increased productivity, massive revenue growth, and above all, ..a more pleasurable and rewarding experience for you! :winkwink:

Anyone else here apply the E-Myth principals? Woot Woot!! :banana

Nicky 01-02-2005 04:04 PM

Why give your domains away? If they make money just leave them or redirect them and still cash in on the checks a year from now, anyways, whatever you decide to do I hope its best for you!

Violetta 01-02-2005 04:11 PM

Nice thread. I can understand you. It can get very lonely and boring just sitting infront of the computer for 10 hours straight.

Manowar 01-02-2005 04:12 PM

i get AIDS

Kimmykim 01-02-2005 04:17 PM

Get out of the house more, and do things with people that aren't business related or that arent in this business. Charity volunteering, mentor a kid, spend some time giving back.

That's the best advice you'll get regardless of what industry and what tools of the trade you have, computers or not.

Yes, thats excellent advice. But I feel like the industry is no no right now. The thing is, I always end up without no real life. I have like three friends haha.

What skills did you acquire through the years working in this business? The internet is not just about 22mil TGPs.

Theo 01-03-2005 02:51 AM

Great thank you for sharing.. Im already more motivated.

Its damn hard to leave this biz and the Internet. Its almost like an addiction. On the otherside I know I need to leave this place for sometime and get a real job and more $$

I will not sell my domains, and give away my projects :)

Knowledge is king for shore. You are right about that.

If anyone wants some marketing advice for cheap-- just contact me.

Want to know how to grow a big TGP the best way?, I know how.... but I dont have the cash to do it myself.. Im flat broke right now lol.

:thumbsup

flashfire 01-03-2005 04:02 AM

I get good money for working in my warm house in my underwear for a few hours a day...no job can beat that!

The thing is I have become an anti-social animal too. I know its more than that. :)

But for an outsider the Adult biz lcan look funny. What I mean is.. this business is very small and nothing new happens really. TGP's and MGP's is a little bit old fashion. No one really try to create a real business. A real business is something like CJ and everything like that.

Im not too worried about my own postion. I will make a lot of money in the future. I have studied hard.... and I have feeling on what works and not.

All I need is a little $$ and some LUV :thumbsup

maxjohan 01-03-2005 04:17 AM

I be back....

:thumbsup

sean416 01-03-2005 04:21 AM

my answer is pretty fucking simple: money. Show me another way I can make more money and I'll be all over it.

Wiggles 01-03-2005 06:23 AM

I don't think you had a social life before you started.
